The Facilities Engineer is responsible for managing and performing basic to complex preventive maintenance and corrective repair within the building, industrial systems, equipment and grounds. Working under limited supervision, this associate will monitor building system operations and performance. Applies several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling. This role will flex in to assist operations with maintenance of Die Cutting equipment as it pertains to normal preventative maintenance and troubleshooting mechanical/electrical issues.
Must have:

  • Review assigned work orders
  • Estimate time and materials needed to complete repair
  • Order necessary materials and supplies
  • Oversee all production facility activities
  • Work closely with the STL facility team to ensure all systems are working properly
  • Inspect and operate all building systems and infrastructure within the facilities
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshoot and repair Pumps, Motors, Plumbing, and HVAC Equipment
  • Manage a preventive maintenance program within the confines of an annual budget
  • Arrange for and manage appropriate third-party contractor support
  • Identify safety hazards within the building
  • Complete all safety and related training per month
  • Maintain licenses and certifications as applicable
  • Alert management of building discrepancies
  • Keep records of building rounds and readings, all engineering logs, and engineering data sheets
  • Manage work orders and help create preventive maintenance schedules using CMMS
Good to have:
  • Universal CFC certification
  • Experience utilizing CMMS system
  • Experience with building automation/EMS

Applies several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling. This role will flex in to assist operations with maintenance of Die Cutting equipment as it pertains to normal preventative maintenance and troubleshooting mechanical/electrical issues.

What You’ll Do:

  • Champion the IMPACT values (Drive INNOVATION, Growth MINDSET, PEOPLE First, Act w/AGILITY, COLLABORATION, Build TRUST)
  • Expected to align with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Reviews assigned work orders. Estimates time and materials needed to complete repair. Orders necessary materials and supplies to finish the tasks.
  • Oversee all production facility activities while working closely with the STL facility team to ensure all systems are working properly. This would include but not limited to inspection and operation of all building systems and infrastructure within the facilities, including electrical, fire/life safety, chiller and associated steam-related equipment, mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, controls,) lighting, temperature control systems, general construction (painting, doors, locks) and specific mechanical equipment.
  • General industrial maintenance skills and ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Performs maintenance, troubleshoots and repairs Pumps, Motors, Plumbing, and HVAC Equipment
  • Manage a preventive maintenance program within the confines of an annual budget. This includes aspects of heating, air conditioning, maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, review and recommendation of changes to preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance procedures.
  • Arrange for and manage appropriate third-party contractor support as needed i.e. Licensed trades person or professional.
  • Identify safety hazards within the building and complete all safety and related training per month.
  • Maintain licenses and certifications as applicable
  • Responsible for alerting management of building discrepancies.
  • Responsible for keeping records of building rounds and readings, all engineering logs, and engineering data sheets.
  • Manages work orders and helps create preventive maintenance schedules using CMMS (computerized maintenance management system)

What You’ll Bring:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum of five years of related experience and/or trade school training.
  • Extensive experience in the facilities maintenance field, backed by five (5) - seven (7) years of cumulative building experience
  • Experience with utility systems found in commercial buildings
  • Proficient in electrical diagnostic including schematical reading and use of multimers, infrared cameras, and other diagnostic tools
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.
  • Ability to work extended hours and maintain a flexible schedule as needed to provide off-hours emergency maintenance support
  • Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Make decisions with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.
  • Responsible for personal safety and the safety of those who are affected by your work. Must maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Based on business needs, the position requires flexibility to work off shifts and/or cover partial weekends. Must be able to provide off-hours emergency maintenance coverage
  • Trade certification or other related craft
  • Troubleshooting and service background
