Job Description

CAE, a global leader in civil aviation and defense & security, seeks a Financial Analyst for its Defense & Security (D&S) FP&A team. Reporting to the D&S Manager, Global Reporting and Analysis, this role involves participating in monthly forecast consolidation, annual budget processes, income statement variance analysis, and providing business partnership to D&S regions. The analyst will also support strategic initiatives and global process improvement projects, working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Must have:
  • Participate in the consolidation of the monthly forecast of the Defense and Security segment, including the preparation of reports and analyses for senior management.
  • Participate in the annual budget process for the segment, including the preparation of the consolidated budget package and ad hoc analysis.
  • Conduct monthly analyses of income statement variances comparing actuals to forecast, budget and the prior year.
  • Work closely with senior management and be a business partner providing guidance and support to the D&S regions.
  • Perform general and customized analyses to support strategic initiatives.
  • Support special projects and works with teams globally in process improvement initiatives.

CAE, a world-class public company that is a leader in training in the fields of civil aviation and defence and security, is looking for a talented individual to join its Defense & Security (D&S) FP&A team as a Financial Analyst.

Reporting to the D&S Manager, Global Reporting and Analysis, you will:

  • Participate in the consolidation of the monthly forecast of the Defense and Security segment, including the preparation of reports and analyses for senior management.
  • Participate in the annual budget process for the segment, including the preparation of the consolidated budget package and ad hoc analysis.
  • Conduct monthly analyses of income statement variances comparing actuals to forecast, budget and the prior year.
  • Work closely with senior management and be a business partner providing guidance and support to the D&S regions.
  • Perform general and customized analyses to support strategic initiatives.
  • Support special projects and works with teams globally in process improvement initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS

  • CPA accounting designation.
  • Five (5) years of experience in an accounting firm or similar position.
  • Ability to thrive in an often fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Results-oriented with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to find solutions and make recommendations by thinking outside of the box.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate ideas and actions to people at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel.
  • Hyperion Financial Management and/or Hyperion Planning expertise an asset.
