The job involves a multi-talented UI Designer / Frontend Developer for the Veeam Kasten data management platform, which is designed for Kubernetes. The role requires building and testing features related to backup and recovery of Kubernetes applications, databases, and storage systems. Responsibilities include preparing UI/UX designs using Figma, creating mockups, conducting UX testing, using CSS, REST APIs, and JavaScript development, and automating code quality with tests. The team works with VueJS, TailwindCSS, TypeScript, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Golang, Bash, and Git, with an emphasis on code quality, extensibility, and testing.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of Javascript/TypeScript development experience
  • Online portfolio or work examples available
  • At least one year of experience with a reactive framework
  • Experience creating visually appealing user interfaces
  • Experience implementing mobile-responsive CSS and SCSS
  • Experience building reusable web components
Good to have:
  • Experience creating and maintaining design systems in Figma
  • VueJS and TailwindCSS experience
  • Experience writing in Go
  • Experience with container platforms like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with open-source contribution
  • Experience with accessibility (a11y) standards

Job Description

We are the leader in Kubernetes Backup and Disaster Recovery. Veeam Kasten, our data management platform purpose-built for Kubernetes, provides enterprise operations teams with an easy-to-use, scalable, and secure system for backup and restore, disaster recovery, and application mobility with unparalleled operational simplicity.

We are looking for a multi-talented UI Designer / Frontend Developer to our Veeam Kasten data management platform, purpose-built for Kubernetes.

Your tasks will include:

  • Owning meaningful parts of the product. build, and test significant features in the Kasten product related to backup and recovery of Kubernetes applications, databases, and storage systems
  • Preparing UI/UX designs in Figma as well as designing mockups and conducting UX testing
  • Using a breadth of skills at every level of development - from initial design to UX wireframing, CSS styling, REST APIs, and JS development for new features
  • Automating code quality with unit tests and end-to-end UI tests

What we expect from you:   

  • 5+ years of professional experience developing, testing, and debugging Javascript/TypeScript
  • Your work or portfolio visible online (e.g. portfolio site, CodePen account, or GitHub)
  • At least one year of experience with a reactive framework such as React, Angular or VueJS
  • Visual design experience and the ability to create visually appealing interfaces
  • Ability to implement designs in mobile-responsive CSS and experience with a CSS preprocessor such as SCSS
  • Experience creating design systems and building reusable web components

Will be an advantage: 

  • Experience creating and maintaining design systems in Figma
  • VueJS and TailwindCSS experience
  • Experience writing in Go (and liking it)
  • Experience with container platforms and orchestrators such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience participating in and contributing to open source
  • Experience with applying accessibility (a11y) standards
