We are looking for an experienced digital equipment architect to join our Hardware Electronic Competence Center, focusing on space applications. You will be responsible for analyzing needs, client interface, architecture, development follow-up, and integration of digital solutions for space systems. This includes managing equipment for satellite payloads dedicated to Observation, Exploration, Navigation, or Telecommunication missions, ensuring functionality, performance, and quality from start to qualification.
Must have:
  • Responsible for the architecture of new on-board equipment, from start to qualification, in line with client needs and product policy.
  • In charge of the functional and electrical architecture of the equipment, in line with client needs and constraints.
  • Specify functions and interfaces of sub-assemblies, validate and trace requirements.
  • Work in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams (boards, FPGAs, ASICs, SW, IVVQ, test bench).
  • Guarantee functionality, performance, quality, process and methodology compliance, and optimize product manufacturability and testability.
  • Manage the interface with internal or external clients, the project manager, and all trades contributing to the equipment.

Your daily life

The Toulouse site is responsible for the engineering of satellite systems, the design and production of payloads, as well as the development and qualification of ground segments. It integrates a research center and an industrial accelerator for start-ups and ventures.

In the Hardware Electronic Competence Center, within the Digital Solutions Hardware Electronic Architecture department, we are looking for an experienced digital equipment architect to join our team dedicated to space applications.

As such, you are responsible for needs analysis, client interface, architecture, development follow-up, and integration of digital solutions for space systems.

The equipment under your responsibility is part of the satellite payload, intended for Observation, Exploration, Navigation, or Telecommunication missions.

By joining us, your main missions are:

  • Be responsible for the architecture of new on-board equipment, from start to qualification, in accordance with client needs and consistent with the product policy.
  • Be in charge of the functional architecture of the equipment, as well as the electrical architecture in line with the needs and client constraints.
  • Specify the functions and interfaces of the equipment's sub-assemblies, validate and trace requirements.
  • Work in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams (boards, FPGAs, ASICs, SW, IVVQ, test bench).
  • Guarantee functionality and performance, quality, compliance with processes and methodology, and optimize product manufacturability and testability.
  • Manage the interface with the client, internal or external, the project manager, and all trades contributing to the equipment (power supply team, ASIC/FPGA designers, board designers, design office, test benches, component engineering, etc.).

Your profile:

You are a BAC+5 graduate (engineering school or university course) in electronics, signal processing, telecommunications/networks, or a related field and have the following skills:

  • Significant experience (minimum 5 years) in hardware/system architecture of digital solutions for demanding applications, integrating critical components (SOC, FPGA, ASIC, DDR, microcontroller, fast serial links, high-speed interfaces, optical detectors).
  • Mastery of principles, tools, and processes for developing digital embedded systems.
  • Proficiency with requirements traceability and configuration management tools (POLARION, DOORS, VIVALDI, GIT…).
  • Knowledge in project management and good organizational skills.
