Job Description

Iron Mountain's Media & Archive Services is seeking an Imaging Technician responsible for image asset migration, restoration, remediation, and reformatting in a digital studio. This role involves direct communication with clients for technical information exchange and collaboration with Client Services, Studio Manager, and Records to ensure timely delivery of contracted services. The technician will maintain project management, work logs, asset tracking, and archival engineer reports, troubleshoot equipment, and support client communication.
Must Have:
  • Digitize, restore, remediate and reformat in the digital studio space
  • Maintain project management, work logs, asset tracking, chain of custody, archival engineer reports for all asset production work
  • Research – format and metadata identification/verification
  • Troubleshoot, calibrate and general maintenance/upkeep of existing equipment
  • Support with client communication
  • Recommend and test new and used equipment (hardware and software) including software version, driver and firmware update management
  • Minimum education: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Familiarity with historic analog and digital visual media formats
  • Working knowledge of MAC/PC including PhotoShop, Photo-Mechanic, Adobe Acrobat, FileMaker and Light Room
  • Familiarity with rich media archive organization, inventory and tracking
  • Detailed Archival and Work Log generation
  • Familiarity with secure electronic and physical file delivery systems
  • Familiarity with backup solutions: digital archiving to server and LTO
  • Familiarity with restoration, remediation, stabilization of 2D Assets
  • Set-up and configuration of scanning equipment
  • Attention to detail / quality control
  • Excellent communication skills: written and verbal
  • Self-motivation and effective time management

Our Imaging Technicians are responsible for image asset migration (digitization), restoration, remediation and reformat in the digital studio space. Candidates may be asked to communicate directly with the customer/client point of contact for technical information exchange. Additionally, the ideal candidates work with Client Services Representative, Studio Manager, Records and Customer Services to ensure receipt, tracking and final delivery of contracted services to clients.

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Responsibilities

  • Digitize, restore, remediate and reformat in the digital studio space
  • Maintain project management, work logs, asset tracking, chain of custody, archival engineer reports for all asset production work
  • Research – format and metadata identification/verification
  • Troubleshoot, calibrate and general maintenance/upkeep of existing equipment
  • Support with client communication
  • Recommend and test new and used equipment (hardware and software) including software version, driver and firmware update management

Requirements

  • Minimum education: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Familiarity with historic analog and digital visual media formats including, but not limited to: negatives, positives, transparencies, glass plate, slide, and poster
  • Working knowledge of MAC/PC including but not limited to: PhotoShop, Photo-Mechanic, Adobe Acrobat, FileMaker and Light Room
  • Familiarity with rich media archive organization, inventory and tracking
  • Detailed Archival and Work Log generation – detailed asset tracking of all production work and metadata
  • Familiarity with secure electronic and physical file delivery systems
  • Familiarity with backup solutions: digital archiving to server and LTO
  • Familiarity with restoration, remediation, stabilization of 2D Assets. Able to identify deterioration and recommend/execute remediation for safe digitization.
  • Set-up and configuration of scanning equipment: Flatbed and overhead scanners, computer workstations, scanning peripherals.
  • Attention to detail / quality control: consistent monitor of image file quality
  • Excellent communication skills: written and verbal
  • Self-motivation and effective time management: planning, organization and prioritization for the successful and timely completion of projects
