Job Description

This program is for current Nissan or Yates employees to earn an Industrial Maintenance & Controls certification over approximately 27 months. Upon completion, individuals will transition into a Maintenance Technician role, providing production equipment support, data control, and facility operations support. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, continuous improvement, preventive/predictive maintenance, and implementing equipment modifications. The role involves hands-on learning and professional development in industrial electrical maintenance and mechatronics.
Must have:
  • Attend TCAT program to earn Industrial Maintenance & Controls certification
  • Transition into a Maintenance Technician role upon program completion
  • Provide production equipment support, production data control, and facility operations support
  • Perform equipment troubleshooting, continuous improvement activities, and preventive/predictive maintenance
  • Implement modifications to support equipment changes
  • Support engineering during equipment installation and modification
  • Communicate with technical support resources for troubleshooting and improvement
  • Create SOS, procedures, and One Point Lessons for repetitive tasks
  • Perform maintenance database additions and updates
  • Review and correct electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Develop Circuit Change Proposals and Root Cause Analysis
  • Prepare Major Breakdown Reports
  • Conduct I/O operation and equipment function checks for new equipment
  • Perform equipment installation work
  • Modify equipment programming (PLC, robot, servo, vision, temperature controllers)
  • Conduct equipment troubleshooting and corrective maintenance
  • Participate in 5S activities and continuous improvement efforts
  • Conduct safety audits

Industrial Maintenance Advanced Work Study Program

*Program only available to CURRENT NISSAN OR YATES EMPLOYEES*

This position will involve attending the TCAT program provided by Nissan to earn a certification in Industrial Maintenance & Controls. Classes will be held during the afternoon shift. The program is designed to last approximately 27 months, and upon completion, the individual will transition into a Maintenance Technician role.

As part of this role, the individual will work in a team environment to provide production equipment support, production data control, and facility operations support through equipment troubleshooting, continuous improvement activities, and preventive and predictive maintenance. Additionally, the individual will implement modifications to support equipment changes in assigned areas.

They will also provide support to engineering during the installation and modification of process equipment, while communicating with technical support resources to aid troubleshooting efforts and improve production equipment.

Job Functions:

  • Creation of SOS, procedures, and One Point Lessons for major repetitive tasks, developing standards specifying the end product and the resources needed for these tasks.
  • Maintenance database additions and updates, providing information to assist in troubleshooting and daily maintenance tasks.
  • Electrical and mechanical drawing review and correction markup.
  • Circuit Change Proposals. Root Cause Analysis.
  • Preparation of Major Breakdown Reports.
  • Assisting manufacturing with productivity, ergonomic, quality, and safety issues to ensure timely problem resolution.
  • I/O operation and equipment function checks for new equipment.
  • Installation work. Equipment programming modifications, including PLC, robot, servo, vision, and temperature controllers.
  • Equipment troubleshooting and corrective maintenance.
  • Preventive and Predictive Maintenance, along with 5S activities.
  • Participation in continuous improvement efforts, including instructional presentations, breakdown presentations, and sharing knowledge to support department programs.
  • Conducting safety audits.
