CIMA+ is seeking a skilled Intermediate Conveyance Engineer to join their Infrastructure team. You will work on projects involving sewers, forcemains, and watermains, contributing to designs, proposing solutions, and delegating tasks to junior staff. The role involves analyzing, designing, and reporting on water and wastewater conveyance systems, developing detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates. You will also assist project managers, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, support construction, and prepare engineering reports. Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience in water and wastewater conveyance systems.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation from PEO.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Familiarity with sewers, watermains, forcemains, and rehabilitation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Intermediate Conveyance Engineer to work closely with the project manager and design lead on a variety of projects related to sewers, forcemains, watermains, and related systems. You will be expected to contribute actively to the designs, propose solutions to the project manager and the lead designer, work independently and delegate some of the tasks to the junior staff. You will be joining a dynamic, experienced, and ambitious team at CIMA+, where you'll have access to a wide range of engineering projects and excellent opportunities for professional growth. 

You will have the opportunity to take part in our hybrid work model that includes flexible work hours, including 2 days /week in our Mississauga or Bowmanville office.  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Contribute actively to the analysis, design and reporting of water and wastewater conveyance systems, including sewers, forcemains, watermains, and associated infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop detailed engineering drawings, sewer and watermain design calculations, sketches, presentation material, detailed specifications, cost estimates, and reporting
  • Assist the project manager and design lead in the delivery of projects from initiation to completion, including supporting the coordination of designs, production of preliminary design reports, preliminary plans, detailed plans, tender document preparation, and engineering support during construction.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., structural engineers, electrical engineers, environmental consultants) to develop integrated solutions for conveyance systems.
  • Support inspectors and contract administrators for projects under construction, and review contractor’s submittals for adherence to design specifications.
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports, feasibility study reports, and project documentation. Maintain accurate records of project progress and changes.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
  • 7 + years of experience in the design, construction, and maintenance of water and wastewater conveyance systems, including pipelines, pumping stations, and related infrastructure.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation from Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • Knowledgeable of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to water and wastewater conveyance systems.
  • Familiarity with water and wastewater conveyance systems, particularly the preliminary and detail design of sewers, watermains, forcemains, rehabilitation techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently, with little supervision, in a collaborative, and multidisciplinary team environment.
