Morningstar DBRS is seeking an enthusiastic intern for its European Corporate-Asset Finance team in Madrid. The role offers hands-on experience in credit analysis, focusing on infrastructure and project finance. The intern will support lead analysts in monitoring credit ratings for existing portfolios, conduct industry research, and contribute to rating recommendations. Responsibilities include financial statement analysis, preparing forecasts, assisting with rating committee materials, producing reports, and reviewing legal documentation, all while adhering to regulatory requirements.
Good To Have:
  • Previous work experience in credit, finance, banking and/or consulting

Must Have:
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in finance, business, economics, engineering or other relevant disciplines

About the role

Morningstar DBRS’s European Corporate-Asset Finance team is looking for an enthusiastic intern to join us in Madrid. If you’re curious about credit analysis and want hands-on experience in infrastructure and project finance, this is a great opportunity to learn from the best.

As part of the team, you’ll work alongside lead analysts and contribute to our coverage of infrastructure, project finance, and sports finance. Your day-to-day will include supporting analysts as they monitor credit ratings for existing portfolios and diving into industry research to keep our insights sharp and up to date.

You’ll report directly to our Senior Vice President and Sector Lead, giving you valuable exposure to senior leadership while building real skills in financial analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Perform company and industry research, financial statement analysis, prepare forecasts and assess management strategy to inform rating recommendations.
  • Assist in the preparation of rating committee materials and contribute to rating committee presentations.
  • Assist in producing timely, high-quality rating reports, press releases and commentaries on rated entities and industry sector trends.
  • Review legal documentation related to credit analysis and, in particular, debt issuance related documents to understand terms and conditions, priority of payments, etc.
  • Adhere to rigorous regulatory requirements, including detailed record-keeping, training, and compliance with Morningstar DBRS policies and procedures.

Qualifications
