Job Description

The WRI Brazil is seeking an intern to support project management and event organization within the Cities team. The role involves assisting the Project Management Office (PMO) with project lifecycle phases, document management, process improvement, and logistical support for the program directorate. Additionally, the intern will help with event planning, execution, communication, budget control, and post-event feedback.
Must have:
  • Support PMO activities, assisting Project Coordinators and Managers.
  • Assist in process monitoring and execution across all project lifecycle phases.
  • Help build and update project portfolio documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Assist in implementing and improving PMO processes and tools.
  • Provide logistical support for program directorate institutional travel.
  • Support event logistics from planning to execution, including checklists and schedules.
  • Assist in communication and coordination between internal teams and suppliers.
  • Support event budget organization, cost tracking, and expense control.
  • Collect and organize post-event feedback, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Assist in updating data and reports on executed events.
Good to have:
  • Basic knowledge of project management
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies
  • Basic knowledge of project management tools (like Asana)
  • Basic or intermediate English

Internship in Project Management and Event Organization

Porto Alegre, Brazil

The WRI Brazil is seeking an intern to support project management and event organization within the Cities team.

Main activities and/or responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Support activities in the Project Management Office (PMO), providing support to Project Coordinators and Managers;
  • Support the monitoring and execution of processes with the technical teams, participating in all phases of the project lifecycle (Kick-Off, Planning, Execution, Monitoring and Control, Closing);
  • Assist in the creation and periodic updating of documents, spreadsheets, and presentations related to the Cities Program's project portfolio;
  • Assist in the implementation of new processes and tools or their continuous improvement for the proper functioning of the PMO and Project Management.
  • Logistical support for the program directorate in institutional trips

Event Organization:

  • Support event logistics, from planning to execution, helping to organize checklists and activity schedules.
  • Assist in communication and coordination between internal teams and suppliers.
  • Support the organization and control of event budgets, monitoring costs and performing simple expense controls.
  • Act in the collection and organization of post-event feedback, ensuring proper documentation of activities performed.
  • Assist in updating data and reports on executed events.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Currently studying between the 5th and 7th semester of undergraduate degrees in Administration, Information Systems, Managerial Processes, Engineering, Financial Management, International Relations, or related fields
  • Availability of 25 hours per week for internship
  • Basic knowledge of project management is desirable.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Good interpersonal communication and ease of working in a team.
  • Organization and attention to detail.
  • Proactivity, willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Basic knowledge of agile methodologies is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of project management tools (such as Asana) is desirable.
  • Basic or intermediate English is a plus.
