Job Description

Join the Legal and Contracts Department (DJC) of the Critical Information Systems (CIS) Business Line (GBU SIX) at Thales. This end-of-study internship, starting January 2026 for six months, involves drafting, analyzing, and revising various contracts (NDA, MOU, license agreements, general terms and conditions) related to IT projects (licenses, SaaS, cloud, outsourcing). You will participate in contractual negotiations, monitor contractual commitments, and ensure compliance with ethical, competition, Trade Compliance, and GDPR requirements. You will also draft legal notes, perform regulatory watch, and update contractual models and procedures.
Good To Have:
  • A first experience in a legal or contracts department of a large group is a plus.
Must Have:
  • Last year of law studies (BAC+5), specialized in IT law, new technologies, intellectual property, or business law.
  • End-of-study internship for six months starting January 2026.
  • Fluent in English and proficient in office tools (Pack Office).
  • Curious, rigorous, autonomous, with good interpersonal skills, team player, concerned by ethics and compliance (GDPR, Sapin 2 Law).

You are in your final year of law studies (BAC+5), specialized in IT law, new technologies, intellectual property, or business law, with a strong interest in NTIC (New Information and Communication Technologies) and GDPR.

You are looking for a six-month end-of-study internship starting in January 2026. A first experience in a legal or contracts department of a large group is a plus.

You are fluent in English and proficient in office tools (Pack Office). Curious, rigorous, autonomous, with good interpersonal skills, you enjoy teamwork and are concerned by ethical and compliance issues (GDPR, Sapin 2 Law). You are ready to work remotely across several sites.

Your daily life

Within the Thales group, the Critical Information Systems (CIS) Business Line designs, develops, and manages complex IT and software projects to support the digital transformation of government organizations and businesses, mainly in France.

The missions of the CIS Business Line include:

  • Development and maintenance of software solutions (IoT, Big Data)
  • Provision of hybrid and multi-cloud services for sovereign clients and critical industries
  • Transformation of information systems to adapt them to the cloud

You will join the Legal and Contracts Department (DJC) of the CIS Business Line (GBU SIX), composed of 11 members spread across the Vélizy-Villacoublay (headquarters), Mérignac, and Labège sites.

Based primarily in Vélizy, you will support the DJC in its main missions:

  • Guarantee compliance with contractual obligations
  • Manage contractual risks and opportunities
  • Contribute to improving project profitability throughout the contract lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with ethical, competition, Trade Compliance, and GDPR requirements

Your missions will be as follows:

  • Draft, analyze, and revise various contracts (NDA, MOU, license agreements, general terms and conditions, etc.) in connection with IT projects (licenses, SaaS, cloud, outsourcing)
  • Participate in contractual negotiations with partners, suppliers, and clients
  • Monitor contractual commitments and coordinate with internal teams for the proper execution of contracts
  • Draft legal notes and perform regulatory watch on topics related to Thales CIS (HDS Repository, GDPR, DORA, NIS2, SecNumCloud, etc.)
  • Update contractual models and procedures based on legal developments
  • Participate in supporting and training internal teams

You will evolve within an experienced team of lawyers, contract managers, and Trade Compliance Officers, and will interact closely with commercial, purchasing, and project management functions.
