The LAB ("Learn And Bloom") Software Engineering Internship Program is a 12-week program designed specifically for first and second year students who are studying at universities and colleges outside of Japan.

The program aims to provide students with an opportunity to:

・Practice fullstack software engineering in a professional setting
・Experience working in a scrum team
・Learn more about PlayStation, Sony, and Japan
・Network with current employees at Sony
・and most of all... have FUN!

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

"Learn" Period - 3 weeks

You will participate in a series of learning sessions, which will help you build the foundations of the following:

・Hard Skills - to become a solid fullstack engineer
・Soft Skills - to become an effective engineering team player
・Global Leadership - to become a true leader at PlayStation and beyond

"Bloom" period - 9 weeks

You will form a scrum team with your fellow interns, and work on developing a PlayStation feature / product. You will utilize all of your hard skills, soft skills, and leadership, in order to present your deliverables to stakeholders.

REQUIREMENTS

・Currently in your first or second year of a Bachelor's program outside of Japan
・Fluency in at least one programming language
・Knowledge on basic algorithms and data structures
・Interest and ability to learn new programming languages and frameworks
・Eligibility to work in Japan (ie. Permanent resident of Japan)

 

NICE-TO-HAVES

・Experience working with web frameworks and / or APIs

 

DURATION

2025/05/19 ~ 2025/08/08 (Subject to change)

 

LOCATION

Sony City, Tokyo

1-7-1, Konan, Minato-ku, Tokyo, 108-0075 JAPAN

 

WORK HOURS

Monday to Friday, 5 days a week

Flexible work hours (7.5 hours/day)

 

HOLIDAYS

Weekends (Saturday, Sunday)

Japanese holidays

Company holidays

 

COMPENSATION

15,750 JPY daily (before tax)

In addition, the following expenses will also be covered in accordance to the company rules:

・Commuting expenses
・Relocation expenses
    ・Flights to / from Japan
    ・Temporary housing (if applicable)
