In this role as a Principal Business Consultant within SimCorp's EMEA Professional Services, you will join the Accounting & Operations team. Your mission is to implement financial accounting solutions using SimCorp Dimension®, advising clients on best practices and bridging their needs with innovative software. You will contribute to all project phases, act as a trusted advisor, facilitate workshops, and lead workstreams, focusing on financial accounting and operations for financial institutions.
Must have:
  • Contribute to all phases of SimCorp Dimension implementation projects with a focus on financial accounting solutions.
  • Advise on workflows and processes in financial accounting and operations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the client.
  • Facilitate workshops to align solutions to client requirements.
  • Map to SimCorp Dimension functions and processes, design and configure customized solutions.
  • Lead workstreams covering tasks, dependencies, and time/resource estimation.
  • Mentor, coach, and help colleagues to secure project deliveries.
Good to have:
  • Hands-on experience with accounting of financial instruments and life-cycle events or accounting closing processes and financial reporting
  • Knowledge or experience in middle-/back-office operations such as settlement, reconciliation, collateral management

In SimCorp, we assist some of the largest financial institutions in the world to be efficient by simplifying their investment, accounting, and operations processes. We do this through IT systems, processes, and financial knowledge. Implementing our software solutions by way of high-quality projects is at the core of what we do. The main purpose of the role is to contribute to the successful implementation of our software platform SimCorp Dimension® and help enable our clients to reach their desired outcomes.

In this role as a Principal Business Consultant, you will be part of our EMEA Professional Services. You will join our Accounting & Operations team. The team’s mission is to implement financial accounting solutions in SimCorp Dimension® for our clients, to advise on standards and best practices and to build bridges between our clients’ needs and our innovative software. We are looking for a candidate with knowledge and experience in accounting for financial instruments - in particular knowledge of established accounting standard rules, such as IFRS 9 (or previously IAS 39) or local GAAP in Germany, Austria or Switzerland.

You will mainly work remotely for projects in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. During the three-weeks' SimCorp Dimension® Academy, ‘hands-on’ experience with our software system will be a part of your onboarding.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Contributing to all phases of SimCorp Dimension implementation projects with a focus on financial accounting solutions
  • Advising on workflows and processes in financial accounting and operations based on your business experience and knowledge of our standard solutions
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to the client
  • Facilitating workshops to align our solutions to requirements from new and existing clients
  • Mapping to SimCorp Dimension functions and processes, as well as designing and configuring a customised solution if need be.
  • Leading workstreams covering all required tasks, dependencies, and time/resource estimation
  • Mentoring, coaching, and helping colleagues to secure the project deliveries

WHAT WE VALUE

  • Work experience as an Analyst or Consultant, for example from banks, asset managers, insurers or consulting firms
  • Knowledge about some of the following elements in investment accounting such as IAS 39, IFRS 9 or local GAAP (e.g. UGB in Austria or HGB in Germany) or in fund accounting
  • Hands-on experience with accounting of financial instruments and life-cycle events or accounting closing processes and financial reporting is desirable
  • Knowledge or experience in middle-/back-office operations such as settlement, reconciliation, collateral management etc. is beneficial
  • Experience with working in projects, e.g. in implementing and configuring software
  • Enthusiasm to learn and use new software
  • Very good communication and consulting skills
  • Fluency in German (at least B2) and English, both spoken and written
  • We expect you to come to the office 2 days per week
