Job Description

The Research Analyst will be responsible for researching, writing, and analyzing risk in due diligence activities. They will conduct media and internet searches on companies and individuals in English and Portuguese, investigate official sources, and analyze collected information for reputational, financial, and integrity risks. The analyst will also prepare comprehensive reports in English, Spanish, and/or Portuguese. The role requires proficiency in English, Spanish, and/or Portuguese, strong research skills, and excellent analytical and communication skills. The job is hybrid with mandatory presence in the Costa Rica office at least 3 times a week.

We are currently looking for a Research Analyst with English Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills. The position is based in the Costa Rica office.  The job is hybrid with mandatory presence in the office at least 3 times a week.


Job summary

We are looking for a Research Analyst to research, write and analyze risk in deep-dive due diligence activities. The successful candidate should have experience or exposure to compliance or international business such as conducting improved due diligence and will be encouraged to have proven research and writing skills. This hardworking individual will add knowledge of the region market conditions as well as local language skills to the department and company which continues to grow on a global basis

SOME OF THE DAILY TASKS:

  • To conduct media and Internet searches on companies and individuals in English and Portuguese
  • To investigate official sources (registrars, regulators, courts, etc.) for information on companies and individuals
  • To cooperate with external vendors (verification of provided information, placing them in a report)
  • To analyze the collected information with a view to reputational, financial and integrity risk (sanctions, corruption, bribery, money laundering, terrorism financing, regulatory violations, etc.),
  • To prepare comprehensive reports in English, Spanish and/or Portuguese.


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?

  • Proficiency in English
  • Proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese.
  • University degree preferably in international relations, political science, legal studies or business management
  • Excellent written and analytical skills including the ability to summarize sophisticated information clearly and concisely from Spanish and/or Portuguese language into English
  • Strong research skills, including online search tools
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Knowledge of, and interest in international affairs
  • Flexibility and resourcefulness to change
  • Team player with a high level of initiative and proactive approach to work
  • Willingness to take ownership of tasks and issues
