The role requires crafting layouts for intense encounters, smart AI pathing, and player agency, implementing guidance systems, and using terrain for strategic opportunities. The designer will integrate occlusion, cover systems, and funneling techniques, place and tune gameplay elements, iterate based on playtesting, and collaborate with art, tech, and narrative teams.
