Glitch Productions is seeking a highly capable, detail-oriented, and organized Licensing Manager passionate about the Animation/Entertainment industry. This role involves leading, developing, and managing outbound licensing and brand partnership opportunities for original animated shows like The Amazing Digital Circus and Murder Drones. The manager will work closely with consumer product and brand teams to establish and manage licensee goals, nurture relationships with existing partners, identify and negotiate with new licensees, and ensure brand consistency. Responsibilities include approving style guides, attending conventions, providing quality assurance for licensee products, managing team priorities, and analyzing sales data for growth opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree, at least 3 years of experience in licensing or related fields, a keen eye for aesthetics, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of the company's brand.

  • An understanding or experience with animation, gaming, or internet nerd culture

About us:
Glitch Productions is an independent animation studio based in Australia making original, long form animated shows distributed on Youtube. Our channel has over 14 million subscribers, tens of millions of views per episode and is still growing strong. Our studio is filled with incredibly talented and passionate artists that are determined to change the way animation is produced and treated in the industry. Our biggest IP; Digital Circus, has amassed over 350 million views on the pilot alone and we have a lot more still to come.

 

Job Information:

Glitch Productions is looking for a highly capable, detail-oriented, and organized Licensing Manager who has a passion to work in the Animation/Entertainment industry, leading, developing and managing outbound licensing and brand partnership opportunities for our growing slate of original animated shows, including The Amazing Digital Circus, Murder Drones, The Gaslight District, and Knights of Guinevere. This role will be working closely with the company’s consumer product and brand teams to establish and manage goals with licensees.

 

In this manager level position, this role will see you involved in managing our relationships with our licensees, seek out new partners, negotiate and close licensing agreements, and work alongside with the consumer products and brand teams to create a cohesive brand strategy. This role is suited for anyone that enjoys a combination of both business and creative focused tasks as you ensure our licensees adhere to both our overall company goals, as well as our unique brand style.

 

Your duties will include:

  • Strategising with brand managers and the executive team on yearly licensing goals, priorities, and opportunities.
  • Managing the company’s relationship with existing licensing partners to ensure their involvement and contribution to the strategic brand and product goals of the company.
  • Identifying, outreaching, and negotiating with potential new licensees, with the goal of supporting the company’s brand goals and revenue targets.
  • Approving and updating style guides, brand bibles, and product guidelines sent to licensees to maintain the company’s distinct visual aesthetics and creative energy.
  • Attending licensing and product conventions as a representative of the company, with the intention of forming new licensing partnerships or strengthening existing ones.
  • Providing quality assurance notes to products pitched by licensees to ensure they meet the company’s standard of quality and creativity.
  • Managing and organizing the priorities of the licensing team and cooperating with the consumer products and brand teams to achieve deadlines and goals set by upper management..
  • Utilising licensee sales data to create informative insights on the health of the company’s licensing programs and potential opportunities for future growth.
 

A successful candidate will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, logistics, marketing, project management or similar.
  • At least 3+ years in licensing, consumer products, brand, or similar roles.
  • Keen eye for aesthetics and brand integrity.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • A strong understanding of Glitch and its show’s brand image.
  • Strong stakeholder management and time management skills.
  • An understanding or experience with the arts, animation, gaming, and/or ‘internet nerd’ culture.
  • Be extremely organized and have a strong work ethic.
  • Engaging personality and willingness to learn.
  • Positive, go-getter attitude with a passion for making things.
  • Strong analytical and deduction skills.
  • Strong understanding of merchandise and licensed product categories and their appropriate demographics.
 

Bonus Skills:

  • Artistic/Creative background.
