CAE is seeking a Machinist II to operate and program CNC machines, ensuring quality and safety standards. This role involves producing machined parts, operating multiple machines, performing inspections, and maintaining equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong computer skills, professional Esprit software knowledge, and 5+ years of CNC machining/programming experience. They will contribute to CAE's vision of revolutionizing training and critical operations in defense and security.

Must Have:
  • Proficient in machine operation loads raw materials and unloads completed parts
  • Required to operate multiple machines simultaneously when needed
  • Performs inspection of own parts and co-worker’s work
  • Follows instructions when selecting appropriate tooling and fixtures
  • Uses measurement tools i.e. digital calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
  • Adjusts tooling & work offsets
  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment including top-off lubricants
  • Cleaning responsibilities including equipment, chip removal, and work area
  • Follows established procedures as well as quality and safety standards
  • Maintains safe work environment
  • Works under supervision
  • Give direction to team members
  • Travel within 10% of year
  • Work with PMO to support programs
  • Advanced computer skills and professional level of Esprit software REQUIRED
  • Good working knowledge of trigonometry, geometry, basic math and measuring instruments
  • Advanced knowledge of programming codes
  • Advanced understanding of machine practices
  • 5+ years CNC machining/programming experience required
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role
  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance

Summary

CNC Machinist/Programmer - is responsible for producing machined parts by operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine while maintaining quality and safety standards. Programming with Esprit (required) 2022 on vertical mills. Lathe programming a plus. Experience with Solidworks and AutoCad preferred.

Security Responsibilities

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

Work Environment

[This job operates in a production/manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • Compliance to OSHA and Site Safety regulations are required.
  • Steel/Composite toe shoes/boots are required.
