Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions. The Manager - Global Rewards role supports the rewards function in designing, implementing, and managing programs. Key responsibilities include developing comprehensive total rewards strategies, leading market analysis, overseeing compensation and benefits, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The role also involves providing data-driven insights and collaborating with Finance, Legal, and HR teams to align rewards with organizational priorities, serving as a subject matter expert to senior leadership.
Must have:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive total rewards strategy.
  • Lead benchmarking and market analysis for compensation and benefits.
  • Oversee salary structures, incentive plans, and equity programs.
  • Partner with HRBPs and business leaders for annual compensation cycles.
  • Evaluate and manage global benefits programs.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain documentation and audit readiness.
  • Provide insights through data analysis and reporting on compensation trends.
  • Support HR and leadership with strategic recommendations.
  • Work closely with Finance, Legal, and HR teams.
  • Serve as subject matter expert and advisor to senior leadership on total rewards.

Key Responsibilities

Leveraging advanced technical expertise, supports the rewards function in the design, implementation and on-going management of general or specific programs and initiatives. Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining rewards program needs/issues.

Meets regularly with client management and HR peers to diagnose specific issues or needs in relation to rewards policies and programs, or to provide ongoing support on operational management issues having a complex rewards dimension.

  • Strategy & Design:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive total rewards strategy that supports global business goals and local market competitiveness.
  • Lead benchmarking and market analysis to ensure compensation and benefits are aligned with industry standards.
  • Compensation Management:
  • Oversee salary structures, incentive plans, and equity programs.
  • Partner with HRBPs and business leaders to manage annual compensation cycles, including merit reviews, bonus planning, and promotions.
  • Benefits Administration:
  • Evaluate and manage global benefits programs including health, wellness, retirement, and leave policies.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and optimize benefit offerings for cost-effectiveness and employee satisfaction.
  • Governance & Compliance:
  • Ensure all rewards programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements across geographies.
  • Maintain documentation and audit readiness for compensation and benefits processes.
  • Analytics & Reporting:
  • Provide insights through data analysis and reporting on compensation trends, pay equity, and program effectiveness.
  • Support HR and leadership with strategic recommendations based on data-driven insights.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Work closely with Finance, Legal, and HR teams to align rewards strategy with organizational priorities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor to senior leadership on all matters related to total rewards.

Experience - 10 to 15 Years

  • Demonstrates depth and/or breadth of expertise in own specialized discipline or field

  • Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services

  • May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity
