Job Description

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions, enabling advanced displays and semiconductor chips. This role is responsible for the full spectrum of financial accounting and reporting for management and corporate, including Tax/Treasury support. Key duties involve overseeing monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities, preparing financial statements in accordance with K-GAAP, supporting internal and external audits, and managing internal control systems. The manager will also supervise accounting operations, lead the Financial Accounting team, and handle corporate income tax returns and VAT filings.

Must Have:
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities and various financial reporting tasks across all financial accounting operations
  • Prepare and report financial statements in accordance with K-GAAP, including regulatory disclosures to the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS)
  • Support internal and external audits, including tax audits and customs audits
  • Review the impact of company accounting policies and standards; operate and manage internal control systems (K-SOX/US-SOX), including change management and process improvements
  • Supervise all accounting operations including payroll, GL/Close, Accounts Receivable/Payable, Fixed Assets, and Intercompany
  • Lead the Financial Accounting team as department head (5 direct reports)
  • Prepare and support annual corporate income tax return/field interviews
  • Review/approve quarterly VAT filings
  • 10+ years of experience in USGAAP/KGAAP financial accounting and reporting
  • In-depth knowledge in finance, accounting and tax
  • Good verbal and written English/Korean communication skills
  • System skills i.e., SAP, MS office (EXCEL, PPT), Dashboards
  • Team player and good interpersonal skills
  • Mature, proactive and independent with good problem solving skills

Responsible for the full spectrum of financial accounting and reporting for management & corporate including Tax/Treasury support.

  • Lead the Financial Accounting team as department head, reviewing and reporting on team members’ work
  • Prepare and support annual corporate income tax return/field interviews, etc.
  • Review/approve quarterly VAT filings
  • Participate/lead ad-hoc projects and other reporting tasks as needed
  • People management (5 direct reports) and team leadership

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in USGAAP/KGAAP financial accounting and reporting
  • Accounting, business administration major and USCPA certification holder preferred
  • In depth knowledge in finance, accounting and tax
  • Good verbal and written English/Korean communication skill
  • System skills i.e., SAP, MS office (EXCEL, PPT), Dashboards, etc.
  • Team player and good interpersonal skills in dealing with people of various levels
  • Mature, proactive and independent with good problem solving skills
  • People managing skills
