Who will you be working with?
You'll be joining as a qualified Cost Accountant I, on our Finance Team. You will work with our Bus Solutions Cost Accountant Manager performing daily cost maintenance in the EPR system, generating various Inventory reports, assisting with month-end close activities and account reconciliation tasks, and supporting yearly Standards updates and other related activities.

As an entry-level cost accountant within Bus Solutions, you will support the business in costing, have excellent organizational and analytical skills while being detail oriented, knowledgeable on operations and identifying problems working under tight deadlines. This will help the company contain costs, identify areas needed for review. This role is critical for the success of the financial processes with regard to inventory, sourcing and cost structure
What do we want to know about you?
We would like to know if you meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor's Degree (B. S.). Two to four years related cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have experience with ERP cost accounting (experience with Oracle is preferred) reporting systems. Advanced user of MS Excel, including pivot tables, lookup tables, etc. Experience in using Power BI and OneStream applications is helpful.
What will your typical day look like?
- Performs required cost maintenance in ERP system daily and reviews pending (current) standard costs monthly against frozen standard cost. Reports on large variations and reviews impact on product margins. Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs.
- Reviews bill of materials and routings for accuracy monthly and as needed. Prepares weekly/monthly labor efficiency reports and analyzes routed hours to actuals trends.
- Generates weekly cycle count reports and monitors compliance with ABC cycle counting program throughout the year. Maintains ABC cycle count codes in ERP system quarterly.
- Prepares inventory and cost month-end close journal entries, generates monthly inventory reports, updates OneStream reports. Prepares and maintains monthly inventory accounts reconciliation.
- Supports Physical Inventory auditing team. Supports yearly Material Standards updates, assists in gathering material cost data and identifies areas for cost-accuracy improvements.
