Job Description

Samsung Semiconductor is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager, Treasury to lead treasury functions, including daily banking, cash forecasting, and payroll-related closing processes. The role requires exceptional treasury and analytical skills, an innovative mindset, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. This position is based onsite in San Jose, California, and offers an opportunity to build a career within the Accounting operations of a global technology leader.

Must Have:
  • Manage daily administration of cash management processes including journal entries, cash analysis, wire transfers, lending/borrowings.
  • Manage the Company’s payment activities, including global netting, weekly payment cycles and wire payments.
  • Develop methodologies for accurate cash forecasting and review annual and monthly cash forecasts.
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual indirect method cashflows and assist with audits and internal control compliance.
  • Oversee and manage bank accounts including formation of new entities, dissolutions, closures, and changes to account structure.
  • Manage the team as a bank liaison and maintain and update bank account signatories.
  • Review payroll journal entries and resolve variances by partnering with stakeholders.
  • Develop methodologies for best estimate of payroll-related accruals and review month-end accruals.
  • Monitor and develop vendor registration processes and ensure accuracy of vendor information.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures within the department focusing on continuous improvement.
  • Assist in various cross-functional projects within Accounting and participate in ad-hoc special projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience in Accounting.
  • 3+ years of lead or supervisory experience in Accounting.
  • Experience in cash forecasting and cash management.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with ability to influence others.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and resolve conflicts.
  • Self-motivated individual with demonstrated experience in improving and streamlining processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, V-Look, etc.).

What You’ll Do

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager, Treasury to join our Accounting Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the company's treasury functions, including daily banking activities, cash forecasting, and payroll-related closing processes.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional skills in treasury and analytics, and an innovative mindset to approach finance problems differently. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team to provide outstanding service to our internal and external business partners.

We are looking for a versatile treasury professional looking to build their career and become an integral part of our Accounting operations.

Location: Daily onsite presence at our San Jose office/headquarters in alignment with our Flexible Work policy

Reports to: Sr. Director General Accounting

  • Manage daily administration of the cash management processes which include journal entries for daily banking activities, cash analysis, wire transfers, lending/borrowings, and various other cash activities
  • Manage the Company’s payment activities, including global netting, weekly payment cycles and wire payments and monitor status and balances
  • Develop methodologies for accurate cash forecasting and review annual and monthly cash forecasts required by management
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual indirect method cashflows and assist with quarterly and annual audits and internal control compliance
  • Oversee and manage bank accounts including formation of new entities, dissolutions and closures, changes to our account structure and records
  • Manage the team as a bank liaison (with the Company’s primary bank and other subsidiaries) and maintain and update bank account signatories
  • Review payroll journal entries prepared and processed by Payroll Shared Service Center and resolve variances by partnering with stakeholders
  • Develop methodologies for best estimate of payroll-related accruals and review month-end accruals
  • Monitor and develop vendor registration processes and ensure accuracy of vendor information
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures within the department focusing on continuous improvement efforts to maximize efficacy and efficiency in overall accounting operations
  • Assist in various cross-functional projects within Accounting and participate in ad-hoc special projects as assigned

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience in Accounting (large public company experiences desirable)
  • 3+ lead or supervisory experiences in Accounting with ability to train, manage and motivate staff in order to complete required projects and meet deadlines
  • Experiences in cash forecasting and cash management
  • Exceptional leadership skills with ability to influence others and earn respect of team and business partners
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and resolve conflicts with external and internal business partners
  • Self-motivated individual with demonstrated experience and continuous desire in improving and streamlining processes
  • Korean language skill is a plus but not required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to analyze and write commentary to explain results/variances in a concise and clear manner
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, V-Look, etc.)
