PHINIA is seeking an enthusiastic Material Planner to join its PC&L team, reporting to the SOM Supervisor. This role involves supporting the Material Planning function. Key responsibilities include running material requirement planning (MRP), releasing and tracking delivery/purchase orders, managing supplier delivery performance, coordinating ASN and customs clearance, assessing sales orders for material availability, supporting lean principles by updating PFEP database, MCIP initiatives, inventory management, and DMS implementation, coordinating new programs and engineering changes, utilizing PRR for improvement and cost recovery, complying with Borgwarner procedures, conducting weekly inventory analysis, checking QPR reports, monthly review of BOM and inventory in E-handbook, and actively working on inventory reduction initiatives. The role also includes ensuring safety and environmental compliance in the working area.
Must have:
  • At least 2 years experience in material planning
  • Supplier management and control experience
  • Experience with MRP and pull systems
  • Inventory management experience
  • Able to use English in writing
  • Good command of MS Office
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good communication and negotiation skills

Job purpose

We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate to join our growing PHINIA PC&L team as a Material Planner. This position will support us in PC&L Material Planning function and report to SOM Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run material requirement planning (MRP)
  • Release delivery-order/purchase-order to the suppliers’ weeks. Track the confirmation and shipment. Expedite/de-expedite orders, to cope with the changes of production schedule and the customer requirement
  • Monitor and report supplier delivery performance and take pro-active steps to ensure on time delivery. Manage supplier pull system when possible
  • Receive ASN, coordinate with logistics on customs clearance
  • Support assessing the sales order with respect to material availability
  • Support lean principles by update the PFEP database, initiatives of MCIP and inventory management, and DMS implementation
  • Coordinate new programs, engineering changes
  • Utilize PRR to drive improvement and cost recovery
  • Compliance with Borgwarner procedures & policies.
  • Carry out inventory analysis on weekly basis, take actions for E&O inventory to ensure material availability
  • Daily check QPR report, follow the process from PC&L perspective
  • Monthly review E-handbook BOM and inventory with DGCS staff, make sure the part information and inventory on E-handbook comply with the information in SAP
  • Work actively on all activities and initiatives focused on inventory reduction
  • Other Tasks assigned by supervisor/manager
  • Make safety and environment the most important criteria in the working area and for the individual 

What we’re looking for

  • College or above or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 year work experience in material planning, supplier management and control, MRP, pull system, Inventory management
  • Able to use English at least in written
  • Good command of MS.Office
  • Familiar with SAP system is a plus
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills. Good communication and negotiation skill
