Job Description

This role involves operating a medium to large box truck, loading and unloading raw materials and finished goods, and ensuring compliance with cGMP, ISO, and FDA regulations. The Materials Driver II is responsible for physical movement, administrative tasks in receiving, shipping, and storing materials, and supporting manufacturing material replenishment. Key duties include real-time electronic transactions in Warehouse Management software, adhering to safety guidelines, monitoring vehicle maintenance, and ensuring material quality. The role requires high accuracy in logging, labeling, tracking, and transporting materials, and supporting internal customers with just-in-time replenishment.
Must have:
  • Operates a medium to large sized box truck.

  • Responsible for physical movement, support, and administrative tasks in receiving, shipping, storing materials.
  • Supports material replenishment for Manufacturing.
  • Performs real-time electronic transactions in Warehouse Management software.
  • Abides by all State and Federal laws for operating a company vehicle.
  • Follows all general OSHA Safety Guidelines for warehouses.
  • Drives a designated route as assigned by leadership.
  • Physically and electronically moves finished goods and raw material with warehouse equipment.
  • Monitors vehicle maintenance including pre-trip inspection.
  • Checks deliveries to ensure all ordered material meets quality standards.
  • Receives, quantifies, and stores incoming material with warehouse equipment.
  • Documents data from logistics KPOs.
  • Performs related transactions, bin maintenance, and maintains shelving for material stocking.
  • Performs real-time daily replenishment of material in a “Just in Time” manner.
  • Processes all deliveries to ensure material transactions occur.
  • Performs with high accuracy in logging, labeling, tracking, transporting, and entering material lot information.
  • Aids in the identification and movement of non-conforming material.

Position Summary

Operates a medium to large sized box truck. Loads and unloads raw material and finished goods at various locations in a timely and effective manner. Perform work in compliance with all cGMP, ISO, and FDA regulations in addition to company policy and safety guidelines. Responsible for the physical movement, support, and administrative tasks involved in receiving, shipping, storing, and support of all material types. Specifically in material replenishment support of Manufacturing. This role will also be responsible for the real time electronic transactions in various Warehouse Management software. Exemplify and implement lean manufacturing and good housekeeping principles. Work shifts may vary dependent on business needs.

Primary Duties

1. The driver must abide by all State and Federal laws associated with operating a company vehicle, including but not limited to knowledge of federal motor carrier safety regulations and Utah Administrative rules for motor carriers.

2. Follow all general OSHA Safety Guidelines for warehouses.

3. Drive a designated route as assigned by leadership.

4. Physically and electronically move finished goods and raw material with warehouse equipment to designated locations.

5. Monitor vehicle maintenance including pre-trip inspection.

6. Check deliveries to make sure all ordered material meets quality standards.

7. Receive, quantify, and store incoming material with warehouse equipment from various delivery sources.

8. Document data from logistics KPOs.

9. Perform related transactions, bin maintenance, and maintain shelving for the stocking of material.

10. Perform real time daily replenishment of material in a “Just in Time” manner to support internal customers.

11. Process all deliveries to ensure material transactions occur for all departmental activities.

12. Perform high level of accuracy with logging, labeling, tracking, transporting, and entering material lot information into Warehouse Management software.

13. Aid in the identification and movement of non-conforming material.

14. Exhibit ability to troubleshoot and problem solve as needed.

15. Demonstrate aptitude to perform work autonomously with minimal oversight.

16. Identify areas that need improvement within the department.

17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A valid Utah Driver’s License is required, acceptable Motor Vehicle Report
  • Internal requirement: 1-2 years of relevant box truck driver experience within bioMérieux. Other applicable company experience may be considered.
  • External requirement: 4 years of relevant box truck driver experience.
  • Materials handling experience within the medical device industry, including working with the FDA regarding control of materials for instruments and chemistry, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • High level of accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency in all job duties.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of all warehouse functions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and internal software.
  • Excellent communication skills.
