Job Description
The Medical Education Specialist is responsible for all aspects of Medical Education programs from inception to execution. The position will act as a true business partner within Medial Education and cross-functional internal teams to ensure delivery of the highest quality and excellent customer experience. The objective is to support Medical Education and Marketing programs, primarily supporting local and offsite surgeon cadaveric training events and other medical education activities for the Company.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partners with sales & marketing to identify regional medical education needs and develops a comprehensive annual medical education strategy and plan to support the regional needs assessment
- Assist with planning, organization, and execution of a comprehensive calendar of Medical Education events according to the annual plan; including cadaveric labs for all local/regional, tradeshows, conventions, webinars, didactic presentations, and other events.
- Researches and recommends activity site selection and aids in strategic planning for Medical Education events.
- Researches and makes recommendations for activity site selection and HCP faculty selection/engagement process
- Coordinates and executes on-site meeting/event logistics, including contracts, equipment shipping and/or rentals, catering, hotel blocks, local transportation, signage, etc.
- Coordinates within the Medical Education team for program-specific HCP-consultant support.
- Develops and maintains Medical Education vendor relations (e.g., facilities, travel, specimen supply, equipment, etc.)
- Collaborates with Product Management and the Bioskills Lab team on new product releases to ensure adequate supply and proper lab instrumentation shipments.
- Serve as contact and internal resource for managing and submitting exhibit, sponsorship, and grant requests for region.
- Assists Medical Education & Professional Relations Manager with Peer-to-Peer event facilitation.
- Supports the sales training program directed at new sales personnel.
- Data entry and administration of Medical Education and customer database information to support various marketing research and corporate communication activities.
- Handles financial transactions for event invoices.
- Maintain and organize onsite Medical Education workspaces.
- Order and manage disposition of cadaveric specimens used during lab events.
- Assist Bioskills Lab Technician with decontaminating and organizing equipment, instrumentation, and disposables following events as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in sciences, business, or marketing or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years combined successful medical education, customer service, sales and/or marketing experience in a product company (medical device experience preferred, but not required) with demonstrated progressive levels of accomplishment.
- Previous meeting planning experience is strongly preferred.
