Job Description

The ML Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining machine learning systems focused on recommendation, ranking, and content enrichment. They will integrate ML models into backend services, build and maintain data pipelines, monitor production model performance, and contribute to MLOps practices. The role involves collaborating with data scientists, senior engineers, and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable technical components and support the lifecycle of ML-powered features. The ideal candidate should have strong software engineering fundamentals and an interest in machine learning technologies.
Must have:
  • 3-5 years of software engineering experience, preferably ML or data-oriented systems
  • Solid programming skills in Python or Java
  • Exposure to machine learning tools and frameworks like Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
  • Exposure to distributed data processing systems like Apache Flink, Beam, Spark, or Storm
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control practices
  • Understanding of fundamental ML concepts like classification, recommendation, and NLP techniques

A Lot About You

We are looking for a motivated and curious Software Development Engineer II (SDE II) with a passion for building and integrating machine learning solutions. In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced ML engineers, data scientists, and product teams to support the development and deployment of intelligent systems that power recommendations, content understanding, and personalization features.

The ideal candidate brings strong software engineering fundamentals, an interest in machine learning technologies, and a collaborative spirit. You will help translate business and user needs into scalable technical components and contribute to the lifecycle of ML-powered features in production.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of machine learning systems focused on recommendation, ranking, and content enrichment.

  • Support integration of ML models into backend services, collaborating with data scientists and senior engineers.

  • Build and maintain data pipelines and services that enable training, testing, and deployment of ML models.

  • Monitor production model performance and assist in debugging issues across the stack.

  • Contribute to the adoption of MLOps practices to ensure model reliability, traceability, and scalability.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and deliver solutions aligned with business goals.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3–5 years of software engineering experience, preferably including ML or data-oriented systems.

  • Solid programming skills in Python or Java.

  • Exposure to machine learning tools and frameworks such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.

  • Exposure to distributed data processing systems such as Apache Flink, Beam, Spark, or Storm.

  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control practices.

  • Understanding of fundamental ML concepts such as classification, recommendation, and basic NLP techniques.

  • Eagerness to learn, contribute to production systems, and grow in a cross-functional ML engineering team.

The compensation for this position ranges from $111,000.00 - $231,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
