Job Description

Intel's Information Security organization is seeking a Network Security Engineer to assist senior engineers with the design, architecture, and build of secure classified network products for US Government operations. The role involves architecting network and network security products in secured enclaves, including testing and selection, and long-term roadmap planning. Responsibilities also include defining system security requirements, designing security interfaces, implementing security designs using COTS/GOTS/open-source hardware/software, overseeing system hardening, and coordinating security assessments to ensure compliance with US regulatory requirements.
Must have:
  • Assist with architecting network and network security products in secured enclaves.
  • Support product testing, validation, and selection for secure classified networks.
  • Assist with design and long-term roadmap planning for scalability in secure enclaves.
  • Play a supporting role in defining system security requirements.
  • Assist with designing security interfaces, interconnections, and trust relationships.
  • Implement system security designs using COTS, GOTS, and open-source hardware and software.
  • Oversee hardening and configuration of systems per Federal, DoD, and IC guidance.
  • Coordinate security assessments and recommend corrective actions.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Secret Clearance.
  • 2+ years experience installing, configuring, and implementing network and infrastructure security devices.
  • 2+ years experience with network troubleshooting for security systems interoperability.
  • 2+ years experience with Data Center network migrations, server upgrades, O/S and firmware patching.
  • One or more Cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CISM, CASP E, Security+, etc.).
Good to have:
  • Active US Government Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance with SCI access.
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Cyber Security Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar.
  • Experience with or knowledge of DEVSECOPS Principles.
  • Ability to implement and configure Cross Domain Solutions (CDS).
  • Experience with DoD security implementation (e.g., STIG) and security tools.
  • Knowledge of NIST 800-171/53 frameworks.
  • 2+ years experience implementing and configuring Arista network infrastructure.
  • Experience with network analysis software (SD Elements, Splunk, Sniffer, Wireshark, Microsoft Network Monitor).
  • Experience utilizing Ansible as a configuration management tool.
  • One or more industry standard certifications (CCNA, CCNP, Network+, etc.).

The Information Security organization supports the unique IT information Security and Compliance requirements for Intel federal projects that deliver products and/or services to the US Government (USG). As part of this team, you will help us grow our secure solution suite to meet U.S. Government requirements. The Intel Information Security organization is seeking a Network Security Engineer. The candidate chosen for this role will assist senior engineers with design, architecture, and build of secure classified network products to support USG operations.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist with architecting network and network security products in secured enclaves, including product testing, validation, and selection.
  • Assist with design and long-term roadmap planning for new and future scalability in secure enclaves.
  • Play a supporting role with the definition of system security requirements, including but not limited to the authorization boundary, security domains, classification of data, etc.
  • Assist with design of the security interfaces, security interconnections, and the trust relationship between system components and external systems. Implement system security designs using commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS), government-off- the-shelf (GOTS), and open-source hardware and software. Oversee the hardening and configuration systems and system components in accordance with various Federal, Department of Defense (DoD), and Intelligence Community (IC) guidance.
  • Coordinate security assessments to identify security control failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Business travel is required as needed.

Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your degree, research and or relevant previous job and or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship required
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Secret Clearance.
  • High School /Equivalent Diploma OR bachelor's degree and 2 years of applicable experience.
  • 2+ years of experience installing, configuring, and implementing network and infrastructure security devices, including but not limited to Software Defined Network and Firewall infrastructure.
  • 2+ years of experience, understanding, and hands on network troubleshooting as it applies to interoperability of security systems with the network.
  • 2+ years of experience working with Data Center network migrations, server upgrades, O/S and firmware patching.
  • One or more Cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CISM, CASP E, Security+, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active US Government Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI access.
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Cyber Security Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar discipline.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US:

$104,770.00-$147,910.00
