About the Position

The new Politics & Debate team of Ärzte Zeitung covers health policy developments in the capital in depth and accompanies the transformation in the healthcare system with journalistic expertise on various platforms. This includes successful and high-profile event formats and discussion platforms. An experienced, well-networked editorial team with high professional standards looks behind the scenes of health policy.

We are looking for you to support the Politics & Debate team of Ärzte Zeitung.

This position is located in our Berlin office with a hybrid working model.

Responsibilities:

• Writing analyses, comments, background articles, interviews, podcasts, and other formats on relevant topics from the healthcare sector, especially health and professional policy as well as health economy
• Planning topics and conceptualizing thematic focuses
• Developing and conceptualizing debate and discussion events (incl. finding and recruiting speakers)
• Moderating discussion and event formats, primarily online
• Supervising selected topics & projects with a focus on political analysis & debate in healthcare
• Supervising and further developing our social media accounts (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram) in coordination with the digital department of Ärzte Zeitung
• Affinity for networking and participation in congresses, specialist events, background discussions
• Regular scheduling of the homepage, managing web content, newsletters, and social media channels of Ärzte Zeitung
• Supervising and contributing to the podcast offerings

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

• Thematic experience in health/professional policy and/or work in a specialized medium
• Completed (natural) science university degree or completed journalistic traineeship or other journalistic training
• Good knowledge of online journalism
• Experience in social media management
• You have already worked with digital formats such as podcasts and interactive presentation forms or similar
• You have knowledge of CMS, Mobile, SEO
• Good planning and project management skills
• Very good organizational and time management
• Great initiative, quick comprehension, flexibility, resilience, and strong teamwork and communication skills
• Willingness to travel occasionally
• Good language intuition, strategic thinking, creativity, and open-mindedness
• Precise and clean German language, good to very good English skills
