Job Description

As a member of the Engineering team, you will be responsible for pantograph design according to standards and customer requirements. This role is about making an impact on the world, putting people first, and continuously improving. You will contribute to revolutionizing the way the world moves for future generations. The position involves coordinating international teams, managing projects with high business impact, and being the main technical interface to customers, ensuring successful technical delivery of projects globally.
Must have:
  • Be the main systems engineer for assigned light rail vehicle, mainline or highspeed pantograph tenders and projects.
  • Interpret and implement customer specifications to enable successful technical delivery of projects located all over the world.
  • Create technical design solutions that align with the customer's needs.
  • Be the main technical interface to customer, from the tender phase to serial deliveries.
  • Proactively manage project elements through collaboration with cross-functional teams, to deliver high-quality solutions that exceed customer expectations.
  • Lead and coordinate engineering activities, including project design reviews, gate reviews and project requirements.
  • Approve all concepts and specifications for use in the project such as calculations, reliability and safety analyses, and system test reports.
  • Cooperate with other functions in cross-functional activities for new product development, cost reduction, risk and opportunity analysis.
  • Ensure project milestones are achieved in support of planned implementation.
  • Be part of project core team, provide regular updates to the Project Manager about progress, technical risks and opportunities, and follow the committed project budget and timeline.
  • Follow all relevant transit engineering procedures, design rules and best practices.
  • You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
  • Decision of technical solution and definition of engineering budget of pantograph systems for assigned tenders and projects.
  • Checking and approval of pantograph technical documentation.
  • Coordination and management of core an extended engineering team, including designers, technical writers, validation engineers, line test engineers and others.
  • Workload planning and management of engineering team.
  • Support trouble shooting on site and provide technical analysis and solution to other departments.
Good to have:
  • Experience on safety related system design
  • Knowledge on Railway standard such as EN50206, EN50367, EN50155, EN50129 etc.

Who will you be working with?

Our best-in-class Engineering team combines knowledge of customers’ needs with deep domain expertise and tenured experience to deliver our pantograph products.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Engineering team, you will be responsible for pantograph design according to standards and customer requirements.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Engineering degree or relevant and proven engineering experience.
  • Ability to coordinate and ensure collaboration of international, multi-site and multi-function teams. Teamwork and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and matrix leadership experience.
  • Sense for workload and priority management.
  • Proactive approach towards customers, suppliers, and internal counter parts.
  • Technical negotiation skills.
  • Ability to develop, lead and implement projects with high business impact.
  • Good English language skills, both spoken and written.
  • Experience on safety related system design is preferred.
  • Knowledge on Railway standard such as EN50206, EN50367, EN50155, EN50129 etc. is a plus.
