Payroll Specialist

Job Description

Our client is seeking a Payroll Specialist for a long-term contract opportunity (with possibilities to go permanent).

DUTIES:

• Processes payroll; summarizes, examines, posts, verifies, and reconciles payroll data.
• Maintains annual and quarterly payroll reports, including a complete record of payroll transactions.
• Coordinates calculates, and posts adjusting entries to appropriate subaccounts as approved by supervisor.
• Reconciles reports including, but not limited to, taxes, retirement, and vendor accounts.
• Recommends, prepares, and documents changes in payroll processing procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Candidates must have previous payroll experience (not necessarily ADP)
• 5+ years is preferred.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferred but not necessary
• Knowledge and experience of payroll processes, laws, and taxes.
• Prior payroll experience
• In-house payroll experience
• Experience with Lawson Software preferred
• In-office required - Downtown location
• FLSA knowledge
