Software Engineer

Kavaliro's client is seeking a Software Engineer for an onsite position in McLean, VA.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain full-stack software solutions to support data science and enterprise requirements.
• Build, maintain, and enhance training materials, tradecraft guidelines, and data science methodologies.
• Create, test, and deploy programming packages and data services that meet cross-enterprise needs.
• Develop complex queries and data pipelines from multiple structured and unstructured sources using modern database and processing tools.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions through documentation, briefings, and demonstrations.
• Support reproducible, reusable, and tested code development practices.
• Mentor and guide junior data scientists by simplifying and explaining complex technical concepts.

Required Skills:

• Proven full-stack development experience.
• Hands-on experience with Angular, Node.js, SQL, and Python. Proficiency in Linux computing and advanced bash scripting.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Neo4J, or RDS for multi-source data queries.
• Data ingestion and pipeline development experience with NiFi. Familiarity with Elasticsearch and Kibana.
• Experience with Git repositories for code management. Experience using ServiceNow in technical workflows.
• Proficiency in Jupyter Notebooks.
• Knowledge of machine learning techniques, including natural language processing (NLP).
• Demonstrated ability to deliver technical results via documentation and oral briefings.
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills. Background in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, business analytics, or hard sciences.
• Desired Skills Experience with cloud services (AWS preferred). Familiarity with big data tools (Apache Spark, Trino).
• Hands-on experience with machine learning algorithms. Containerization skills using Docker or Kubernetes.
• Data visualization experience with Tableau, Kibana, or Apache Superset.
• Experience developing technical curriculum and training content.

Clearance Requirement:

• Candidates must have an active TS/SCI security clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph.
