Job Description

Reporting to the National Director of Engineering and Projects, and collaborating closely with the Regional Operations Director (Ontario Quebec), you will manage key projects in the Pointe-Claire, Pont-Rouge, Boisbriand, and Anjou plants. You will define, develop, and lead multidisciplinary projects with a strong business sense, actively working with a national team on large-scale projects focused on construction management, equipment installation, commissioning, acceptance testing, and project closure, including the transfer of safe work procedures to operations and maintenance teams.
Must have:
  • Lead projects, establish plans, determine and develop schedules, detailed budgets, and installation/commissioning plans to achieve project objectives.
  • Manage relationships with project stakeholders including plant operations/maintenance, R&D, procurement, and external contractors.
  • Be resourceful and capable of defining, developing, and leading multidisciplinary projects with strong business acumen.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in leading/managing small, medium, and large-scale projects.
  • Available to travel 40% of the time.
  • Bilingual (French and English) to facilitate exchanges with teams outside Quebec and international colleagues.
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.

Project Engineer

Our goals - Your path

Reporting to the National Director of Engineering and Projects, and collaborating closely with the Regional Operations Director (Ontario Quebec), you will manage key projects in the plants of Pointe-Claire, Pont-Rouge, Boisbriand, and Anjou.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead projects and establish plans, determine and develop the schedule, detailed budget, and installation and commissioning plans to achieve project objectives, evaluate and manage risks, and allocate available resources to the different phases of each project.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders related to each project, e.g., plant operations/maintenance team, R&D team, procurement and accounts payable teams, project steering committee, external contractors and suppliers, consultants/engineering firms, regulatory bodies, and municipalities.
  • Be resourceful and have the ability to define, develop, and lead multidisciplinary projects with a strong business sense. The successful candidate will actively work with a national team leading large-scale multidisciplinary projects, focused on construction management, equipment installation, commissioning, acceptance testing, and project closure, including the transfer of safe work procedures to operations and maintenance teams.

Your expertise - Our strength

  • University degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, industrial, or chemical) with experience in project management (up to $5M).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS-Project or an equivalent project management tool.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in leading/managing small, medium, and large-scale projects.
  • Available to travel 40% of the time.
  • Bilingual (French and English) to facilitate exchanges with the team outside Quebec (60% of the time) and our international colleagues.
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
