Job Description

Join Wargaming's Steel Hunters team as a Project Manager for a 9-month fixed-term contract. You'll manage planning and scheduling for a fast-paced team working on this free-to-play mech shooter game. Responsibilities include acting as the main point of contact for internal teams, managing cross-team dependencies, and driving continuous improvement in workflows and communication. The ideal candidate has solid project management experience in gaming or tech, experience managing internal development teams with diverse cultures, and excellent communication skills. The role involves working within a complex and dynamic environment and a belief in iterative processes and continuous improvement. This is a hybrid role, with 3 days a week in the Guildford office.

Job Overview

Join the Steel Hunters team, the newly announced free-to-play mech shooter game, by Wargaming, one of the biggest publishers of free-to-play games in the world. 

This strategic and tactical game in Unreal Engine 5, blends mech hero combat with Battle Royale and Extraction gameplay in a rich, futuristic setting, where players fight over a rare resource called Starfall. As a Project Manager, you will be part of a team of project managers, as part of a large multi-disciplinary project. You will be a key member of the development team, focused on helping create plans and driving the Systems team towards how we can deliver effectively and reliably. 

Duration: This is a 9-month fixed term contract - maternity cover. 

Reports to

Senior Producer.

What will you do?

  • Managing the planning and scheduling of the work of a fast-paced team, working towards strict deadlines 
  • Act as main point-of-contact for internal teams, ensuring they have the information they need  
  • Help manage cross-team dependencies 
  • Strive to continuously improve the way we work and communicate with all teams 

What are we looking for?

  • Solid experience of project management within a gaming or tech industry background 
  • Experience managing internal development teams with cultural differences 
  • Great communicator who can work in a complex and dynamic environment 
  • Believer in iterative processes and continuous improvement 

What additional skills will help you stand out?

  • Experience with JIRA (or equivalent), Confluence (Wiki or knowledge base) and Excel 
  • Passionate about gaming 

Work mode

Hybrid - 3 days of work from the office in Guildford.
