As Public Policy & Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg by navigating and influencing the political, regulatory and fiscal frameworks on state, federal and EU-level.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive public policy strategies in supportof Tesla’s mission, especially focusing on our ability to operate Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg. You will monitor political developments, assess their potential impact on our ability to operate our vehicle and cell manufacturing facilities, and advise senior management on the best course of action. You will act as the primary liaison between Tesla and key political stakeholders and identify new business opportunities that emerge from political and regulatory changes, working closely with cross-functional teams to translate these opportunities into actionable strategies.
This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, in-depth knowledge of the political environment, and excellent communication skills to effectively represent Tesla’s interests and drive business growth. Your ability to build strong relationships with policymakers, industry associations, and other stakeholders will be crucial in ensuring Tesla’s long-term success in a dynamic market.
Development and Implementation of Public Policy Strategies:
- Work with EMEA and global Tesla teams to develop policy positions
- Create and execute strategies to influence political decisions at state, federal and EU level, focusing on our ability to manufacture world-class products
Stakeholder Management:
- Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including politicians, policy-makers, industry associations and NGO's
- Actively represent the company in front of political decision-makers, government agencies, associations and other relevant stakeholders
Monitoring and Analysis of Political Developments:
- Continuously monitor and analyze political, regulatory and fiscal developments at the state, national and European level to identify risks and opportunities for Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue business development opportunities arising from political and regulatory changes and support the development of actionable strategies in coordination with internal teams
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex policy issues and develop effective solutions
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
- A strong network of contacts in politics, government at federal and EU level
