As a Scanning Artist, you will support the Art team with your specialist knowledge of locating, scanning, and processing assets for use in a ground-breaking new IP. You will be responsible for capturing and processing scans of real-world assets to be used in the game. You will work closely with the Lead Scanning Artist, Art Director, and Technical Artists to create high-quality, realistic assets that enhance the game's visuals.

Key Duties Include

  • Capturing and processing scans of real-world assets for use in-game
  • Contributing to the development of the scanning/photogrammetry pipeline
  • Collaborating with the Lead Scanning Artist, Design and Art Teams to create capture lists
  • Assisting in locating and gaining legal access to required assets
  • Keeping up to date with the latest industry techniques to improve quality or productivity

Requirements

  • Experience of photogrametry scanning to create in-game, real-time art assets
  • Proficiency with 3D and material authoring tools such as 3ds Max, Maya, Reality Capture and Substance
  • Knowledge of PBR material creation
  • Familiarity with cameras, lenses, and lighting techniques for scan capture
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • A willingness to travel in the UK and internationally

Desirable

  • Knowledge of alternative scanning processes such as LIDAR, NeRF, etc.
  • Interest in areas like geology, architecture, or dendrology
  • Driving license & passport
  • Interest in motorsport
