We’re on the lookout for a strong Security Technical Advisor to join the office of the CEO of MAI. The right candidate takes the initiative and enjoys finding paths through complexity in a fast-paced environment. This role entails offering strategic, technical counsel utilizing their proven experience in security software engineering to enhance executive decision-making and mitigate vulnerabilities across the business. This role will involve analyzing vulnerabilities, conducting targeting security reviews and research, identifying and evaluating new areas for research, and performing analysis into emerging threats. This is a unique opportunity to have a positive impact on improving the digital safety for millions of users around the world. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across a variety of different projects and evaluations as they surface ad-hoc and will be able to clearly synthesize insights into clear exec-level written documents.

By applying to this role based in U.S. Mountain View, CA and Redmond, WA. You are required to be local to the San Francisco area or Redmond area and be in office 3 days a week. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to the CEO of MAI on strategic and technical security matters – identifying areas of opportunity and risk to ensure robust and scalable solutions are in place  
  • Spot emerging trends and threats, ensuring the company remains at the cutting edge
  • Prototype and evaluate pieces of technology in order to develop insights and share findings
  • Oversee critical technical projects and initiatives, guaranteeing timely delivery, scope adherence, and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Serve as a liaison between the CEO of MAI and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment.  
  • Clearly communicate strategies, progress, and results to executive leadership and key stakeholders, advocating for the quality and efficiency function within the team.
  • Identify business needs and devising solutions, including software development, process improvement, and strategic planning.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8 years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C , C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR Equivalent experience
  • 7 years of professional experience in mitigating cyber threats
  • 10 years experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cybersecurity, and/or anomaly detection
 
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12 years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C , C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • 7 years of experience contributing to OSS projects/public hackathons/whitepapers in AI or security space

Software Engineering IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $161,600 - $286,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $209,600 - $314,400 per year.
