NetEase is seeking an experienced Senior Corporate Communications Manager for North America. This role involves managing proactive storytelling around company priorities, overseeing media relations in the United States with a focus on national and business publications, and contributing to strategic and crisis response communications globally. The manager will also handle communications for strategic partnerships, brief media and external stakeholders, act as a company spokesperson, work on events, and develop messaging to tell the company's story. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in corporate/crisis communications, a proven ability to build and execute strategic communication programs, extensive experience in rapid response and social media monitoring, and excellent communication and project management skills.

Who we are looking for

NetEase is looking for an experienced communications professional to join our growing global communications team. In this role you will manage proactive storytelling around our company priorities, oversee media relations for NetEase in the United States, and be part of our strategic and crisis response communications program globally.

You will also manage communications for strategic partnerships and investments, brief media and external stakeholders, act as a company spokesperson, work on virtual and live events, write messaging and help tell the company’s story in North America.

As part of the global communications team, you will:

  • Work with the head of communications plus leaders across the company to advise and execute corporate branding strategies and build a compelling narrative of who we are and why we are different to other technology companies.
  • Develop and execute metrics-driven PR campaigns to build up our corporate image and increase visibility among local communities
  • Own media relations for the United States, with a focus on national and business publications (Washington Post, New York Times, Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal, NBC News, etc.) and land coverage about NetEase
  • Lead strategic and crisis response function, partnering closely with internal stakeholders across legal, partnerships, product, and executive leadership to ensure NetEase is proactively addressing issues as they arise.
  • Lead our corporate social listening strategy and proactively monitor conversations about NetEase across social channels, including Twitter and LinkedIn.
  • Be a driver for internal escalations and decision-making, ensuring action items are clearly understood, assigned to and actioned by owners, and addressed quickly and accurately.

What we are looking for:

  • 8-10 years of experience in corporate/crisis communications, preferably a mix of in-house and agency.
  • Experience building and executing strategic communications programs from the ground up.
  • Extensive experience leading rapid response communications and social media monitoring programs.
  • Someone who excels under pressure, moves fast, is focused on delivering results and has a track record of working well across a diverse group of internal and external partners.
  • Someone who is people-focused, collaborative, passionate, solutions-focused, and innovative.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, strong multitasking and project management skills

Extra skills that could help:

  • Experience, knowledge or strong interest in the gaming industry
  • Willingness to or experience in working in a cross-cultural environment
