Job Description

As a software engineer, you are part of the Codabox Sourcery team — a cross-functional group of five people within the larger Codabox development organization. You are responsible for designing and building solutions, including back-end and front-end development, infrastructure (IaC), quality assurance, and continuously improving the software development and delivery process. The role involves leading design, development, and maintenance of complex software, optimizing performance, creating user-friendly applications, and ensuring reliability through testing. Collaboration on troubleshooting IT issues is also key.
Must have:
  • Design, develop, and maintain complex software applications.
  • Optimize software performance and efficiency.
  • Lead design of innovative, user-friendly software.
  • Create comprehensive testing routines and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex IT issues.
  • 5+ years in Golang, Python, or Java.
  • Experience with microservices architecture.
  • Design APIs using REST or GraphQL.
  • Proficiency with provisioning tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation.
  • Proficiency with relational/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
  • Comfortable with Git, CI/CD, IDEs, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
  • Experience with collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, MS Teams, Slack).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Possess a DevOps mindset.
  • Work effectively in a small agile team.
  • Eager to learn and share knowledge.
  • Open-minded to new techniques and tools.
  • Engage with business to find solutions.

About the Role

As a software engineer, you are part of the Codabox Sourcery team — a cross-functional group of five people within the larger Codabox development organization, which consists of 25 team members.

You are responsible for designing and building the solution, including back-end and front-end development, infrastructure (IaC), quality assurance and continuously improving the software development and delivery process.

Every software engineer has their own specialty, for example infrastructure, security or databases.

Responsibilities

  • Take the lead in designing, developing, and maintaining complex software applications to solve business problems.
  • Identify bottlenecks and optimize software programs to improve overall performance and efficiency.
  • Lead the design of innovative and user-friendly software applications that align with customer needs and industry standards.
  • Create comprehensive testing routines and procedures to ensure the reliability and accuracy of software applications.
  • Collaborate with others to troubleshoot and resolve complex information technology issues that may arise during development.

Your Profile

  • 5 + years of professional experience in Golang, Python or Java.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and have been designing APIs with REST or GraphQL
  • Proficiency with provisioning tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Pulumi or similar
  • Proficiency with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
  • Comfortable using Git, CI/CD pipelines, IDE’s and cloud platforms (AWS or GCP)
  • You have worked before with collaboration tools, like Jira, Confluence, MS Teams, Slack
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Fluent in English, Dutch and/or French is a plus
  • You have a passion for developing enterprise applications
  • You have a DevOps mindset: “Your build it, you run it”
  • You like to work in a small agile team
  • You are eager to learn and share your knowledge through pairing or software teaming
  • You are open minded to learn new techniques, languages and tools
  • You look forward to discuss with business to find the right solutions
