As our Senior Live Ops Designer, you will design, create, and manage live operation systems, features and content in our social sandbox game. The Senior Live Ops Designer defines and communicates the strategy and content for what players do in our live events. You have a wide knowledge of live operations and how live ops design impacts and intersects the metagame. You will guide a broad scope of live operations systems as they contribute to the player experience of a live game.
The Senior Live Ops Designer reports to the Design Director.
Responsibilities
- Define, communicate, and oversee the design requirements for live operations-focused features, content, and designs
- Work directly with product managers and live operations specialists to define live operations seasons, content, and tuning requirements
- Partner with key stakeholders to craft the overall live operations strategy and plans
- Champion a player-focused live operations mindset throughout the team, ensuring that features are built with extensibility and growth in mind
- Translate high-level visions, design concepts, and strategies into compelling content adhering to calendar of live events that promote player engagement
- Lead with a player-first mentality, prioritizing long-term player health and engagement over shorter-term wins
- Work in-engine to build, author, edit, and implement live event content
Qualifications
- 5+ years game design experience, or show equivalent knowledge
- At least 3 years of experience in live operations driving designs, strategies, and content plans
- Experience with what makes live operations successful through current free-to-play mechanics, fundamentals, and trends
- Proficiency balancing the needs of a diverse player base and managing engagement throughout all stages of the player lifecycle.
- Strong interest in skate. and social sandbox games with an understanding of how they work

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the range and benefits for your specific location.

Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

º $122,400 - $176,300 USD Annually
• New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):
º $115,700 - $176,300 USD Annually
• Jersey City, NJ :
º $142,000 - $176,300 USD Annually
• Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):
º $131,000 - $174,800 USD Annually
• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
º $115,700 - $163,100 USD Annually
• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
º $107,600 - $147,100 CAN Annually
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
