Wolters Kluwer is seeking a Senior Manager, Product Software Engineering to lead a talented team in building innovative, scalable, and high-quality software products. This role involves leading a team of managers, defining technical direction, and ensuring projects align with business objectives. The Senior Manager will oversee the design, development, and delivery of commercial software products within the Accounting and Tax Business Domain, contributing to the broader Product Suite's evolution.
Must have:
  • Lead a team of managers to ensure the design, development, and delivery of commercial software products.
  • Define technical direction and ensure projects align with business objectives.
  • Report directly to the Country CTO and be part of the Technology Leadership Team.
  • Be the ultimate owner of all technical work within a full Business Domain (Accounting and Tax).
  • Hold final responsibility for the effective operation of the teams within the domain through Engineering Managers.
  • Guide the team in solving complex technical challenges and making architectural decisions.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, quality assurance, and best practices.
  • Oversee the adoption of modern frameworks, tools, and DevOps practices.
  • Drive the successful delivery of software products from concept to deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Management, QA, and UX.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Act as a key liaison between engineering and senior leadership.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Align engineering efforts with business strategy and customer needs.

Your Role

As a Senior Manager, you will lead a team of managers to ensure the design, development, and delivery of commercial software products. You will play a key role in defining technical direction and ensuring that projects are aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Reports directly to the Country CTO and is part of the Technology Leadership Team.
  • Is the ultimate owner of all technical work within a full Business Domain (Accounting and Tax).
  • The products in the domain are part of a broader Product Suite, and the candidate will be one of the key contributors to its definition and evolution.
  • The position’s direct reports are a group of Engineering Managers.
  • Through this team of managers, the candidate holds final responsibility for the effective operation of the teams within the domain.

Technical Oversight

  • Guide the team in solving complex technical challenges and making architectural decisions.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, quality assurance, and best practices.
  • Oversee the adoption of modern frameworks, tools, and DevOps practices.

Project & Product Delivery

  • Drive the successful delivery of software products from concept to deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Management, QA, and UX.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Act as a key liaison between engineering and senior leadership.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Align engineering efforts with business strategy and customer needs.

Skills & Qualifications

Technical Expertise

  • Strong background in cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Proficiency in software development, including APIs, automation, and modern frameworks.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Leadership & Management

  • Proven ability to lead and grow high-performing engineering teams.
  • Skilled in people management, including delegation, conflict resolution, and team motivation.
  • Experience in agile methodologies and iterative development.

Strategic Thinking

  • Ability to align technical execution with business objectives.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
