Job Description

The Senior Payroll Analyst is responsible for processing payroll for CR, US, and CAN. This includes managing new hires, leaves of absence, terminations, and updating payroll changes and deductions. The role also involves processing salary increases, retroactive payments, and importing third-party information for semi-monthly payroll. Key responsibilities include processing child support, wage assignments, and garnishments, auditing payroll registers and ADP reports, and preparing payroll-related reports for various departments. The analyst will also perform peer audits, ensure SOX compliance, and coordinate year-end W-2 processing. Additionally, they will support audits for Worker’s Compensation, 401(k), and FSA, and provide payroll information to employees. Collaboration with ADP, government agencies, and vendors to resolve issues is crucial.

Payroll Job Descriptions

Name: Senior Payroll Analyst
Department: Finance
Reports to: Payroll Manager

Responsibilities

  • Process Payroll for CR, US and CAN Payroll
  • Process new hires, leaves of absence, terminations, and maintain payroll changes and deductions. 
  • Process salary increases and, if applicable, retroactive payments. 
  • Review and import third-party information for semi-monthly payroll processing. 
  • Process child support, wage assignments, and garnishments. 
  • Audit payroll register and other ADP reports. 
  • Prepare and provide payroll-related reports to HR, FP&A, GL, and Accounting and Finance groups. 
  • Perform peer audits, fill out checklists and other duties as assigned to ensure quality.
  • Generate payroll reports using ADP Reporting as needed. 
  • Coordinate and plan year-end W-2 processing. 
  • Support Worker’s Compensation, 401(k), and FSA audits. 
  • Provide information to employees on payroll matters, tax issues, and benefits deductions. 
  • Interface with ADP, government agencies, and other vendors to resolve issues. 
  • Ensure SOX compliance regarding payroll processes. 
  • Maintain files and documentations by company policy.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Meet and create new KPI /SLA metrics
  • Review and analyze the ADP day-to-day process, identifying improvement initiatives to obtain/apply best practices.
  • Effective working relationships with both internal departments and vendors and understanding the urgency and impact on both vendors and the corporation.
  • Interact with ADP, auditors, accountants, and management as needed to provide information about the department and specific WindRiver requests.

Technical Skills

  • At least 3 years of Payroll experience is required in USA and CAN, preferably with Workforce Now Payroll and ADP Reporting.
  • Experience with CR payroll (outsourcing). 
  • BS or equivalent in Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • Advanced English level (spoken and written).
  • Intermediate – advanced excel skills
  • ADP experience, Comprehensive services experience is a plus.

Competencies

  • 3-5+ years of general payroll processing experience in other countries is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of customer service. 
  • Strong attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines. 
  • Must be a team player and able to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality of data entry.
