As a Senior QA Analyst at Sunblink, you will be a champion for quality on Hello Kitty Island Adventure. You'll collaborate with development and external QA teams, acting as a crucial bridge between internal departments to ensure thorough testing of new features. You will work directly within the game engine to test upcoming changes, create strategic test plans, and apply critical thinking skills to uncover elusive edge-case bugs. You'll also be the expert voice for quality as the team concepts, creates, and delivers new content to delight players. This role involves liaising with developers and external QA teams, testing upcoming features, creating and executing test cases, identifying and reporting defects, and evaluating QA processes.
Must have:
  • 3-5+ years game QA experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving skills.
  • Experience in multiple QA testing methodologies.
Good to have:
  • Unity Engine experience.
  • GitHub & Version Control experience.

As a Senior QA Analyst at Sunblink, you'll be a champion for quality on Hello Kitty Island Adventure, collaborating closely with our development and external QA teams. You’ll act as the crucial bridge between internal departments, ensuring new features are tested thoroughly and effectively. You’ll also work directly within the game engine to test upcoming changes, create strategic test plans, and apply critical thinking skills to hunt for elusive edge-case bugs. Lastly, you'll be the expert voice for quality as the team concepts, creates, and delivers new content to delight our players!

This job is based in Boulder, CO, but we are open to permanently remote candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between developers and external QA teams regarding upcoming feature development and related port projects.
  • Test upcoming PRs on feature branches using Unity Engine.
  • Create, execute, and maintain test cases ensuring all objectives and testable criteria are met within each milestone.
  • Identify and report defects within the project using bug tracking software.
  • Employ creative ad-hoc testing driven by curiosity and critical thinking to uncover and document edge-case defects.
  • Use technical and analytical skills to evaluate feature related risks and historical defect trends and communicate them to the development team.
  • Evaluate and enhance QA processes, focusing on strategic test coverage.

Skills and Experience

  • 3-5+ years game QA experience, preferably with mobile & Live service games
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and prioritization skills
  • Experience in multiple different QA testing methodologies
  • Familiarity with different game platform / console development, certification and submission processes
  • Unity Engine experience a plus
  • GitHub & Version Control experience a plus
