Job Description

The Senior Simulation Technician is responsible for supervising and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on training devices to ensure maximum successful training events. This role includes supervising supply support, managing stock, ordering parts, and handling shipping and receiving. The Senior Simulation Technician also acts as the shift leader, ensuring the safety of Simulation Technicians, and serves as the primary point of contact for all technical and maintenance inquiries on-site during their shift. They may also act as the Maintenance Manager's delegate during absences.   • Supervise and perform maintenance on training devices.
  • Supervise supply support, including stock takes and parts ordering.

  • Eligible for SECRET (NV1) Defense security clearance.

Candidate Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Simulation Technician is responsible to the Maintenance Manager to supervise and perform all preventative and corrective maintenance on training devices under support, to ensure that maximum successful training events are able to be achieved by the end user.

  • They are also responsible for supervision of supply support within the maintenance services including stock takes, parts ordering, shipping and receiving of parts, and any other supply support task as directed.

  • The Senior Simulation Technician acts as the shift leader, where applicable, and is responsible to the Maintenance Manager for the safety of all Simulation Technicians on supervisory shifts.

  • The Senior Simulation Technician is the point-of-contact for all technical and maintenance enquiries on site during shift.

  • The Senior Simulation Technician acts as the Maintenance Manager’s delegate as directed by the Maintenance Manager, and during times of the Maintenance Manager’s absence.

Security requirements

As the Australian Department of Defense is a major client, you must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defense security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
