The Senior Software Engineer (C++) role involves working on integration and test automation projects. The engineer will work with a variety of technologies and platforms. The role requires strong C++ proficiency, experience with systems programming, and computer science fundamentals. The engineer will often work with multi-threaded and asynchronous code. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to a digital experience assurance platform that detects, diagnoses, and remediates issues before they impact end-user experiences. The engineer will contribute to a large system developed in modern C++ and will make extensive use of the standard library and third-party libraries.

Job Details

Please note that we have a hybrid approach to work and are looking for someone who can come into the London office at least one day a week.

What You'll Do

We are seeking a skilled and motivated C++ Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves working on integration and test automation projects and having the opportunity to work with a variety of technologies and platforms.

Qualifications

  • Modern C++ proficiency. You will have to work on a large system developed in modern C++ (C++17 or newer) that makes extensive use of the standard library and uses a large number of third party libraries
  • Systems programming experience. You will have to often work and understand multi-threaded and asynchronous code.
  • Computer Science knowledge. You need to have a strong understanding of computer science fundamentals and a willingness to learn new technologies and libraries.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Python. Experience with Python will be beneficial for tasks involving scripting or automation
  • Boost Asio knowledge. You will often have to work with components/abstractions provided by boost::asio in order to write thread-safe asynchronous code.
  • Platform APIs. Sometimes you will need to work with Linux and/or MacOS and/or Windows Platform APIs (non-UI).
  • Network programming. Occasionally, you will have to understand, debug and write code that performs low level network operations
