Telstra, a leading Australian telecommunications and technology company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in the DotNet platform. The role involves translating customer needs into new products and capabilities, applying deep technical expertise to develop scalable design blueprints throughout the software development lifecycle. Responsibilities include researching and coordinating with development teams, business analysts, and project managers on technical aspects, designing, developing, and implementing software applications, and ensuring projects are completed on time. The engineer will also develop reusable and optimized code, write unit tests, and assume end-to-end responsibility for software solutions. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience with the .NET platform (Core & Standard), C#, ASP.NET MVC, Web API, SQL Server, and Git, along with strong analytical and communication skills.
Must have:
  • 7+ years experience in .NET platform (Core & Standard)
  • In-depth knowledge in C#, ASP.NET MVC, Web API
  • Experience in SQL Server Stored Procedure creation and performance tuning
  • Good knowledge of Test-Driven Development and Unit testing
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
Good to have:
  • Experience in Entity Framework
  • Experience in web frameworks like MVC or full stack development using Angular/ReactJs
  • Experience in Javascript, JQuery, Bootstrap, HTML 5, CSS3

What You’ll Do

  • Research and coordinate with software development team, business analysts, project managers on technical aspects of projects and assignments.
  • Involvement in the design, development and implementation of the project related software applications.
  • Implement standard procedures for software development and project management change requests while working on a project or assignment.
  • Should have used experience working with any of the source control platforms (Git). Ensure that projects or assignments are on track and completed on the given deadline.
  • Develop reusable and optimized code that adheres to the software development standards
  • Prepare documentation related to software solutions created per the requirements.
  • Creation of Testable code, constructing unit tests and mocking.
  • Take ownership and assume end to end responsibility including design and unit test code.
  • Write, debug, maintain and test software related to our custom software offering and supporting software functionality.

About You

Essential:

  • 7+ Years of experience developing software on the Microsoft .NET platform (Core & Standard)
  • In-depth knowledge in C#, ASP.NET MVC, Web API
  • Experience in Entity Framework (or equivalent) and experience in web frameworks like MVC or full stack development using Angular/ReactJs is desirable.
  • Experience in Javascript, JQuery, Bootstrap, HTML 5, CSS3
  • SQL Server Stored Procedure creation and peformance tuning .
  • Good knowledge of Test-Driven Development and Unit testing
  • Analytical and problem- solving skills.
  • Able to specify, plan and deliver new or updated application functionality.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present technical matters in a comprehensible way also to non-technical customers and colleagues.
