Extreme Networks is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer specializing in Cloud Networking with Java/Golang Development. The role involves core coding and implementation for Network Automation/Orchestration products, adapting new technologies, and working on story/task implementation for solution integration. Responsibilities include low-level design, rapid development, and delivery of test automation feeding into CI/CD practices with high code coverage. Must have:
- 2-12 years of experience in Cloud Networking and Orchestration.
- Proficiency in 4 or more technical areas.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong coding and debugging experience in Java or GoLang.
- Exposure to the entire Product Life Cycle.
- Proficiency in Linux OS, data structures, and IPC mechanisms.
- Experience with Agile Development Model, CI/CD, Jenkins, and Git.
- Knowledge of DB concepts and messaging services.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Good to have:
- Microservices-based Architecture and best practices.
- Exposure to cloud application development.
- Understanding of multi-threading/routines.
- Knowledge of webhooks/web sockets.
- Familiarity with Open API/OpenConfig NETCONF/Streaming Telemetry/GNMI/GRPC.
- Knowledge in L2/L3 OSI layer Protocols (802.1Q, LAGs, VxLAN, EVPN, ACLs, MPLS/VPLS, BGP).

Position: Staff Software Development Engineer- Cloud Networking -Java/Golang Development
Experience: 2 to 12 years
Domain: Cloud Networking and Orchestration
Location: Bangalore/Chennai
Role :
- Core coding/implementation of a given Module(s) which go in to Network Automation/Orchestration Product
- Adaptation of new technology/design in to existing Product
- Work on the implementation of Stories/Tasks for Execution and work across teams for complete Solution Integration
- Low level/Detailed Design and Implementation
- Rapid development and delivery of Test Automation feeding in to CI/CD practices and exceptionally health code coverage
Skills Required
- Complete exposure to the entire Product Life Cycle is a MUST
- Proficiency in 4 or more out of the below areas
- Micro services-based Architecture and their best practices. Hands-on experience with Docker containers, Kubernetes (K8s, K3s) cluster, Helm charts
- Exposure to cloud application development
- Strong coding and debugging experience using Java or GoLang.
- Linux OS, Data structures, IPC mechanisms. Intricate understanding of multi-threading/routines.
- Agile Development Model with CI/CD , Jenkins pipeline and working knowledge of Git environment.
- DB concepts and Deployment models - RDBMS/No SQL
- Exposure to Messaging Services like RabbitMQ and Kafka
- Knowledge of webhooks/web sockets
- Open API/OpenConfig NETCONF/Streaming Telemetry/GNMI/GRPC
- Knowledge in L2/L3 OSI layer Protocols - 802.1Q; LAGs; VxLAN; EVPN; ACLs; Route Policy; MPLS/VPLS; BGP; and L2 Forwarding; L3 Routing will be desirable
- Exceptional Written/Verbal Communication Skills
Qualification :
B.E/B. Tech or equivalent in CS/EEE/ECE with at least 2-12 years of relevant experience
