What You’ll Do

This Technical Application Engineer - CMOS Imaging position will lead technical engagement and implementation of image sensor products into various customer applications. This is a startup environment so we are looking to build and grow this team with energetic individuals.

Location: Onsite at our San Jose headquarters 5 days a week 

Reports to: Director of Application Engineers 

  • Provide pre-design-in customer support to camera design engineers evaluating Samsung image sensors. This includes comprehension of the customer's application, creation of compelling product demonstrations, consultation with customers for product selection assistance, and general Q&A.
  • Provide post-design-in customer support to camera design engineers designing cameras with Samsung image sensors. This includes design assistance on HW and SW, on-site optimization and troubleshooting, collaboration with camera module integrators, and general Q&A.
  • Correlate customer findings to internal measurements and support an upcoming lab infrastructure.
  • Lead technical communication between customers and internal engineering teams. Understand customer voice and requirements and guide development engineering and planning teams to deliver products that will delight customers.
  • Monitor and report on customer evaluation and design status to ensure customer's needs are proactively being met. Prepare customer status reports, issue tracking, and summaries of customer requirements.
  • Manage customer programs/projects across sites (US & Asia) to ensure strong team collaboration in resolving customer issues.
  • Prepare product benchmarking and competitive positioning data to support Sales/Marketing teams.

What You Bring

  • Bachelors with 15+ years of relevant industry experience, or Masters with 13+ years or PhD with 10+ years in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • 5 - 8 years customer applications support, or camera/image sensor design.
  • Knowledge of camera design, operation and performance metrics; understanding of optics, image processing, video processing, module electro-mechanics.
  • Knowledge of CMOS image sensor design, operation and key performance metrics; understanding of pixels, analog circuits, ADC, digital processing, and high-speed interfaces.
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend and consider both technical and business information
  • Experience in programming/scripting languages (C, Python, Perl), MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word). Strong Excel skills a must.
  • Experience in Imatest, Matlab are a strong plus.
  • Willingness to travel overnight up to 20%

Base Pay Range

$177,100 - $282,900 USD
