Electronic Arts is seeking a motivated Technical Interface Designer to join the EA SPORTS FC team. This role bridges the gap between artists and software engineers by combining artistic skills with programming and scripting knowledge. You will work closely with artists, project managers, and programmers to develop immersive player experiences, recreate screens from mockups, and manage project schedules. Responsibilities include driving art asset conversion, maintaining best practices in code and art development, creating UI animations and effects using proprietary game engines, and optimizing art assets. You will also debug art and animation issues, design motion demos, and collaborate with engineering and art teams to manage technical constraints. The role involves mentoring junior team members and fostering a culture of growth within the Experience Design team.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of experience creating 3D motion graphics/interfaces with game engines (Unreal/Unity)
  • Technical skills and ability to learn new proprietary tools
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented programming languages and scripts (Javascript, C#)
  • Proficient with Adobe Photoshop, After Effects
  • Visual animation and programming experience (e.g., UE's Blueprint)
  • Experience with ECS
Good to have:
  • Familiarity with scripting languages like Python
  • Understanding of user experience principles
  • Knowledge of revision version control software (Perforce ideal)
  • Degree in a relevant visual art or technical subject

The team is passionate and committed to developing an immersive player experience within FC. We are looking for a motivated, passionate Technical Interface Designer who bridges the gap between artists and software engineers by combining artistic skills and experience with programming and scripting and is able to bridge the link between old and new technology. You will be part of the art team and work closely with artists, project managers, programmers and other technical designers. This is an opportunity to do career-defining work and be a part of EA's most successful franchise – EA SPORTS FC.  Your Responsibilities * Recreation of screens and components from mockups provided by the design team * Work closely with production and directors to define and prioritize tasks, plan project schedules, allocate resources, and ensure that objectives and milestones are realistically achievable. * Develop and maintain strong creative and collaborative partnerships across disciplines to help further develop the game experience * Learn and drive art asset conversion from legacy to new format * Introduce and maintain best practices in code and art development * UI animations and effects creation using proprietary game engine * Apply proper art optimization techniques in art assets * Quickly identify and debug art and animation related issues * Motion demo design and creation for game front end and HUD and integration in game * Collaborate with engineering and art, explaining both the art team needs and the tech constraints * Document tools and workflows on the internal Wiki * Be a mentor and foster a culture of growth and education within the XD team while being a champion for Technical UI Designer within the organization. Your Qualifications * 5+ years of experience creating 3D motion graphics, or interfaces with game engines such as Unreal or Unity * Technical skills, and ability to quickly learn new proprietary production tools and workflow * Good understanding of Object Oriented programming languages and scripts (e.g. Javascripts, C#) * Familiar with scripting languages like Python * Proficient with Adobe Photoshop, After Effects and other graphics and animation applications * Visual animation and programming experience like UE’s Blueprint * Experience with ECS Other Preferred Skills/Qualifications * Understanding of user experience principles * Understanding of revision version control software.
