Job Summary
Job Description
The Software Engineer I will be responsible for determining hardware compatibility and influencing hardware design. They will develop and recommend corrective actions, and may conduct feasibility studies. The engineer will write code, program, test, and debug applications using current technologies, complete documentation, and interface with users to define system requirements. They will apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, making adaptations and modifications as needed. The work involves conventional plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment with few complex features. Other duties may be assigned as required.

- Develops and recommends corrective actions.
- May conduct feasibility studies on new and modified designs.
- Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications using current programming language and technologies.
- Completes documentation and procedures.
- May interface with users to define system requirements.
- Performs engineering work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks.
- Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
- Performs work which involves conventional types of plans, investigation, surveys, structures or equipment with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents.
Other duties may be assigned as required.
