Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage a team of highly skilled kernel developers and individual contributors
- Provide technical mentorship and career development guidance to team members
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture that promotes excellence in open-source development
- Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and support professional growth
Technical Leadership:
- Drive technical strategy and roadmap for open-source KMD/DRM development initiatives
- Guide testing and validation strategies for memory management modules for Intel's GPUs, networking stack to support multi-GPU communication
- Lead pre- and post-silicon qualification efforts for Intel's GPU/HW products
- Review and approve technical designs and architectural decisions
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership on project planning and execution
- Manage relationships with open-source community stakeholders and maintainers
- Coordinate with cross-site organizations to ensure effective communication
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and execute team objectives aligned with organizational goals
- Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and deliverable commitments
- Identify and mitigate technical and operational risks
- Drive continuous improvement in development processes and methodologies
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electronics/Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- 15+ years of experience in large-scale software product development
- 5+ years of proven people management experience leading technical teams
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in C programming and Linux kernel development
Technical Expertise
- Deep understanding of Ultra Accelerator Link (UALink) open specification for die-to-die interconnect and serial bus architecture
- Deep expertise in DRM/KMD driver development
- Knowledge of UALink's role in enabling high-bandwidth, low-latency connections between AI processing units
- 6+ years of experience developing DRM/KMD drivers for Linux with GPU, multi-die, and scale-out systems
- Strong presence and contributions in the open-source community with a demonstrated track record of upstream contributions
- Experience with GPU architecture and graphics/compute technologies
Leadership Skills
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing technical teams
- Strong communication and presentation skills for technical and executive audiences
- Experience managing distributed/cross-geo teams
- Ability to balance technical depth with management responsibilities
Additional Requirements
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies
- Ability to make strategic technical decisions and drive consensus across teams.
