The Sr. Marketing Manager- Paid Media, part of the NA Go-To-Market Media team, helps lead the Client Marketing media team in developing and executing media and sponsorship campaigns to drive client partner business results. This key role on the NA Marketing Client Marketing GTM team aims to grow the overall Client marketing business and serve as a media subject matter expert across the larger NA marketing organization. The Sr. Manager must thrive in a dynamic, highly matrixed environment, be results-oriented, flexible, and possess a positive attitude. They need a consistent track record of collaborating with internal teams and external agency partners, and be detail-oriented and thoughtful in client communications.
Must have:
  • Lead and manage paid media strategies for multi-channel client media campaigns (i.e., TV, display, social, and SEM) along with agency partners and Visa’s media team.
  • Support and work cross-functionally with Client Marketing leads, agency partners and internal Visa teams during media plan development, including prepping brief documents, creative production, analyzing media performance, and executing necessary optimizations.
  • Identify key opportunities to pitch media opportunities to clients, including ways to integrate clients into Visa’s sponsorship partnerships like NFL, Olympics, FIFA World Cup, and more.
  • Lead ideation and development of media POVs, test and learn opportunities, development of team media trainings, and custom, innovative media executions for Visa clients.
  • Lead client calls/meetings with agency partners, vendors, and platform partners. Establish productive relationships with partners and subject matter experts beyond Visa.
  • Stay connected to changing data & privacy standards, finance-specific guidelines like Fair Lending Compliance, attribution solutions, and emerging payment products.
  • Strong management of media plan, project timeline, finance, and budget tracker.
  • Interest in client facing role and effective presentation skills.
Good to have:
  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
  • 10+ years’ business experience, with majority in marketing roles that involved both campaign management and execution of media marketing campaigns.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the media landscape and individual digital and traditional media channels.
  • Experience across B2B and B2C campaigns and partnerships that deliver against brand and direct response goals
  • Data-driven mindset, defines and measures quantifiable goals, learns, and continually optimizes approaches
  • Interest in growing in-house strategy team and direct management opportunities
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong project management skills and experience coordinating cross functional, end-to-end projects that include a high level of detail.
  • Team player able to work on multi-part projects across teams and able to ensure project deadlines and budgets are met
  • Ability and initiative to self-manage when necessary and ability to multitask to support multiple efforts as needed
  • Experience running meetings with internal and external customers and users
  • Positive relationship management skills and ability to influence decision makers both internally and externally
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Additional experience across Affiliate Marketing, SEM, SEO

The Sr. Manager must be able to thrive in a dynamic, highly matrixed environment. He/she/they will be results-oriented, flexible, and have a “can do”, positive attitude. Additionally, the Sr. Manager must have a consistent track record working collaboratively with internal team members and external agency partners. The Sr. Manager should be detail oriented and thoughtful when preparing materials for and communicating with clients and partners of Visa.

Essential Functions

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 149,900.00 to 217,500.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
