The NA Senior Product Line Purchasing Leader supports growth through “Mega Quotes” considering the entire APTIV Product Portfolio. This role involves influencing SCM Strategy development to meet the needs of all product lines, enforcing corporate policies, and driving SCM activities to meet BBP Revenue and OI targets. Key activities include attaining lowest upfront cost, driving BOM costing, leading early supplier selection, and addressing SCM/supplier issues.
Good To Have:
  • Automotive purchasing or project management experience
  • EE or Mechanical Engineering Degree
  • Lean Expertise
  • Additional languages (Spanish, Chinese)
  • Knowledge of Semiconductors industry, key players/technologies and electronics procurement
  • Experience in Safety Electronics

  • 5+ years in purchasing, project management, or Engineering
  • Proven ability to get results in challenging environment

The NA Senior Product Line Purchasing Leader is located at our Monterrey, MX facility. This position will mainly Support our Growth through “Mega Quotes” considering the entire APTIV Product Portfolio. Influence SCM Strategy development to meet the needs of the all product lines involved and enforce all corporate, divisional, and SCM policies and procedure. Drive all SCM related activities and processes needed to support the BBP Revenue and OI targets for the region

Key Activities include:

  • Enforce all corporate, divisional, and GSM policies and procedures
  • Attain lowest upfront cost/ideal value stream performance targets by engaging Engineering, Manufacturing and suppliers.
  • Drive all BOM (Bill of Material) costing working closely with Suppliers, Category and Engineering.
  • Lead and implement early supplier selection process.
  • Address all SCM and Suppliers related issues impacting supply, quality and material performance.
  • Drive development of strategic suppliers by product line with PBU in collaboration with

Responsibilities:

  • Lead supplier selection including the RFQ process, supplier evaluation and communication as well as key participation in sourcing decisions.
  • Oversee all procurement activities for the assigned Product Lines/Customers.
  • Responsible for the change management process for Procurement as well as project planning.
  • Represent the SCM team when working across the functions (Sales, Engineering etc.) and lead technical supplier discussions.
  • Act as the central interface between the Global Product Line and central SCM (including supplier quality) team.
  • Lead and represent SCM in reviews with the Senior Management Team
  • Deliver committed material performance for projects to meet business plans.
  • Drive Categories to deliver on P2P and Engineering to deliver on Design Cost Saving Initiatives
  • Support the business in research and use of new technology suppliers.
  • Manage global SCM financial Risk & Opportunity Tracker.
  • Determine material cost for new programs and approve purchased parts business cases

Must Haves (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience and Knowledge: 5+ years in purchasing, project management, or Engineering,
  • Results Driven: Proven ability to get results in challenging environment
  • Ability to Influence: Ability to communicate clearly with an understanding of the audience and to present ideas and gain commitments that are crucial to the success of the business.
  • Creative Thinker: Demonstrated ability to think innovatively and creatively to resolve problems.

  • Languages: fluent in English
  • Education: University degree (Bachelor or higher)
